Would love to see him get a cap - top bloke. I think he’s a way off at the minute but it’s good that he has a personal reason to continue to improve as a playe.

You say that , but Allan Campbell won a full cap whilst at Luton, so it is possible to be recognised in the Championship

Given the amount of impressive Scottish players we have had over the years only John Hewie and Tony Watt ( who was on loan to Blackburn at the time) have won a full cap whilst playing for us. Many like Alan( not Allan) Campbell , Joe McLaughlin , Jim Melrose , Mark Reid and Colin Walsh never received caps at all in their career

If Campbell got one it's a miracle that Doc isn't the record appearance holder

Doc and Edwards could be in with a shout if they play well this season.

Edwards is hampered by having Tierney and Robertson in his position however
  • Unfortunately he’s not getting in a midfield of Gilmour Mctominay, McGinn and Ferguson

That shows the quality of Scotland in the 70s and 80s. Also, I think caps were much harder to win back then, with fewer subs allowed and less games played too.

In recent years, countries have tended to cap players at a young age, especially those with mixed nationality, to "capture them" for their country.

Walsh was an unused sub whilst at Forest.

McLaughlin was absolutely dreadful for us.

There is absolutely no way Greg doc gets into the Scotland squad, admire him for believing he can but he’s not even remotely close to being at the level required  and if he is, then it says a lot about the midfield quality Scotland have.

Like Billy Bonds for England  ( which I understand would have involved the Hammer paying an extra £5k to us ).

If Josh Edwards makes the impact in the Championship that I expect him to, he may have a chance of international recognition. As you say, though, Scotland are very well stocked in his position. In addition to the Robertson and Tierney, they also have Aaron Hickey at Brentford and Josh Diog, who's done very well in Italy and has won his first cap.

Yes - he spoke really well. Talked about how we have a plan on the pitch for various scenarios and the players know how to change shape / adapt at the time.

He’s very good but if last years team, IMO Ramsay, Jones and Coventry are ahead of him.

Don't think we can say that until we have seen our 9 new signings playing in the league

Maybe TRR’s real name is Linda Edwards

Can't help but be a massive fan of Doc. I know his performances on the pitch can be somewhat divisive but off the pitch he is always such a great representative of the club. You can see him being the kind of person you run through brick walls for

Put some respect on the man's name, he was absolutely immense today, just like home to Birmingham last season, the man steps up in big games where it's tighter than a nun's snatch. Brownie on Comms alluded to it too, saying he's probably our best player when we're out of possession.

He’s so good. He isn’t amazing on the ball but he breaks up play well and has started to make the runs Berry did last season to arrive late in the box. Really leads by example and is very important to the team as a whole
