  • Would love to see him get a cap - top bloke. I think he’s a way off at the minute but it’s good that he has a personal reason to continue to improve as a playe.
You say that , but Allan Campbell won a full cap whilst at Luton, so it is possible to be recognised in the Championship

Given the amount of impressive Scottish players we have had over the years only John Hewie and Tony Watt ( who was on loan to Blackburn at the time) have won a full cap whilst playing for us. Many like Alan( not Allan) Campbell , Joe McLaughlin , Jim Melrose , Mark Reid and Colin Walsh never received caps at all in their career

If Campbell got one it's a miracle that Doc isn't the record appearance holder
  • Doc and Edwards could be in with a shout if they play well this season.

Edwards is hampered by having Tierney and Robertson in his position however
  • Unfortunately he’s not getting in a midfield of Gilmour Mctominay, McGinn and Ferguson

That shows the quality of Scotland in the 70s and 80s. Also, I think caps were much harder to win back then, with fewer subs allowed and less games played too.

In recent years, countries have tended to cap players at a young age, especially those with mixed nationality, to "capture them" for their country.

Walsh was an unused sub whilst at Forest.

McLaughlin was absolutely dreadful for us.
  • There is absolutely no way Greg doc gets into the Scotland squad, admire him for believing he can but he’s not even remotely close to being at the level required  and if he is, then it says a lot about the midfield quality Scotland have.
