  • Foden still on the pitch after 4 games of doing nothing.

    Why do I never learn.
  • Hmm. Wanted someone else at LB. Gordon and Palmer to start would have been ideal.

Be interesting to see if it's still 4231 or Saka 3  at the back with Saka and Trippier wing backs.
  • Be interesting to see if it's still 4231 or Saka 352 with Saka and Trippier wing backs.
Or 3421 with Bellingham and Foden behind Kane
  • hopefully we dont leave it until the 88th minute to make a change when chasing the game this time 😂
  • 3-5-2
  • strong line up, G S's got it right this time, we win a difficult game as the Swiss have a very good and experienced team, especially in defence
  • Problem yet again here is width. England were doing well with overlapping full/wing backs. Now we've got a bunch of central players and one isolated wing back at each side.

Trippier and Foden down the left definitely wasn’t working well.

The right was though and most of our chances came from Saka/Walker pairing.

We've neutered that to now leave two players isolated outside with no real support easily being able to be marked.

There's two options to fix it, channel running by Foden and Bellingham to create openings for Saka/Trippier overlaps.

Or lots and lots of crosses from Trippier and Saka into Kane + another striker. That's why I think Foden for Toney was the better move.

Overall though we weren’t playing well enough, we needed to up the tempo so personally I’d have been disappointed if we stuck with the same 4-3-3/4-2-3-1.

They should both drift about in those roles with the freedom to come wide but we’ll see how well it works in reality. I wouldn’t have minded two strikers up there to give us someone who can run in behind.

Assuming it is the 3421 then fair enough, will take that line up and formation.
  • I hope we don’t go one up and then do the normal sit back if we do that we lose. Just play the game we are the better team man for man if we don’t over think things we win
  • Foden and Saka should have been dropped for Palmer and Gordon and kept the 4231, the 352 only works with proper wingbacks on both sides and Trippier and Saka aren't that

11 vs 3 Swiss players, I fancy us to win, though it might take extra time.
Fancy us on penalties if they've got no keeper.
  • We need to up our game 100% in comparison to the other matches but hopefully the dramatic ending to the Slovakia game has given us momentum.

Just win please... lets get the JOB DONE!! - With as few bookings as possible, what with the risk to some key players
  • Sponsored links:

  • 4 players on a yellow, including Bellingham and Foden
  • I find it a little odd that the Germans have chosen to start these games with Dad's Army style flags on the pitch.
  • Trippier left, Saka right…
  • Doesnt look like we've started with three at the back
  • Same set up, ridiculous
  • Saka at RWB and Trippier at LWB. WTF?!?!
  • All that excitement for nothing, same set up
  • Saka at RWB and Trippier at LWB. WTF?!?!
Looks more like a back four? - Walker isnt playing Centre-Back at the moment
  • Comedy, especially after Foden said he'd play better in this new set-up.
