  • Well, it’s been better from England but then it couldn’t have got much worse. There is still a real lack of tempo and penetration. Saka is the threat, but need some more from a few others.

One of Toney or Watkins for Foden is probably the change I would make.
  • The panel are a lot more positive than I'm feeling.
  • Been much better than we were against Slovakia. Still too slow for my liking, but it's understandably cagey
  • Saka, Mainoo, Konsa and Walker the highlights.

Foden pushing Bellingham out wide is mind-blowing. Why are we making our team worse?
  • think we have been the better side - Swiss look like they have a bit of stage fright - they look like a different team to the Italy game
  • Surely Foden can't make it out for the second half?

4 and a half games of absolutely nothing.
I'd love to be a fly on your wall hearing the studio talking about Foden as a ten, being better ;)
  • Got to get Saka on the ball 1 on 1 high up the pitch
  • both sides one shot off target - sums it up

Genuinely shows the level of punditry in this country. Look at the sideways passing highlights as a number 10  :D

  • It’s tense. It’s also a bit better than the last three games, which isn’t saying much.

Saka is enjoying playing from a bit deeper and running at the Swiss right back.

Just need someone to get on the end of a cut back… big chances for a goal if Xhaka hadn’t blocked Mainoo’s attempt and Kane was capable of running to get across Akanji earlier in the half.
  • We look one paced again.
  • Anyone else starting to thing Southgate won’t play Gordon or Eze because they are to direct ?
  • The panel are a lot more positive than I'm feeling.
Marty Holland on co-comms for the N.American feed. He wasn’t too unhappy with it.

Yep.  It's been a teensy bit better, but it's not been good, has it?
  • They've even said Harry Kane has stayed high, jesus christ  :D

Not understanding the love for Foden from the pundits, thought he was pretty dreadful other than a couple of decent passes. Mainoo, Saka and Konsa have been good. Better than the previous games but still pretty uninspiring stuff. I'd love to see Palmer's positivity but no way Southgate brings him on yet.
  • A bit better, and Saka has been a threat on the right, but the build up is still too slow, and we are offering nothing from the left. Neither keeper has had anything significant to do yet.

Landon Donovan has been complimenting England too.

  • Better but when you start from such a low that's going to happen.
  • Konsa has definitely been great, especially as he's having to deal with Embolo who he doesnt look as though he'll win many strength battles against

We have been the better team on the whole.

Problem again is the attacking set-up. We dominate the ball but offer nothing (other than Saka this game).
  • Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  • There was a point towards the end where our tippy tappy football made me wonder if we could go through on possession rather than penalties. It is better than previous games, but our ability to break forward and suddenly turn back into our own half is just soo Charlton.

Do they have an inside joke with eachother about being overly positive to confuse all the fans watching at home?
They are just terrified of being called negative.

I mean, if you're a neutral theres been bugger all to get excited about.

Imagine they got dogs abuse for being 'wrong' with the late comeback last game so are trying to be positive no matter what.

The Foden talk just shows they're either not watching the game or scared of criticising Southgate.
  • Harry Kane doing nothing is apparently him sacrificing himself zzzzz
  • Walcott looks weird with that hair.
