If the potential to win a game against league one giants and local rivals Leyton Orient doesn’t whet your appetite then Charlton aren’t the club for you (or you are in fact sane and are bored shitless of all the waffle and guff trying to dress up the fact that we aren’t a shit third tier football club with a previously rich history of having fuck all to do with this shithouse league )
with the amazing thought progress of the Kasparov Charlton press enough to squeeze the life out of any opponemts a dominant dull 1-0 victory will keep the Valley freak show faithful happy and baying for more
I'm looking forward to this one. On paper, we must pick up 3 points in these games and put teams to the sword. I feel like we're a team that if we score first we could win a game 3-0 but I don't feel confident of a comeback if we go 1-0 down.
After months of indifference, feeling a bit meh about Charlton and wondering why I got another ST, suddenly I can't wait for when Saturday comes, along with all the old optimism. 3-1 Charlton - Gas, TC & Coventry. COYR

I’ll have a line of whatever he’s just sniffed please
Orient came into this season feeling bullish and a 2-1 defeat to Bolton won’t have quelled that feeling in their fanbase - especially when they see they’ve got last season’s 16th placed team up next.
We’ve played three decent teams back to back (if you include Pompey) and only given up a single wonder goal. Another clean sheet would be excellent but you can never bank on them because as Tuesday showed, sometimes there isn’t much you can do about it.
I’ll put my optimistic pants on and go with a 1-0 or 2-1 home win. Ask me tomorrow and I might say 1-1 draw.
I think that observation is a tad optimistic.
The Portsmouth game was a friendly, the Portsmouth we played was a shadow of the Portsmouth that left Elland Road with a point showing they weren’t at full speed against us.
Birmingham made 8 changes for the cup game and still won at a canter
Wigan was a good result despite the goal assist coming from a Wigan player
Compared to last season we look a lot stronger at the back but just as weak in midfield and a lot weaker up front

Definitely didn't win at a canter. If we took the chances in 1st half we would have been comfortable. They hardly troubled us to the point where Mannion only made 1 save I believe.
This is a team that will get better as the season progresses.

I think your angle is more than a tad pessimistic.
Not sure what evidence you have of the Portsmouth team that played us being a shadow of the team at Elland Road. The majority of the starting eleven, including 4 of the back 5, started both games.
Charlton made nearly as many changes as Birmingham did & on another night we would've scored the penalty and gone on to win that game.
Glad you're able to give the team some credit for going to one of the best home teams in the division and coming away with three points.
Two wins out of two wins would be a fantastic start so that’s why I’m going for a draw . What with our lack of bite up front and the fact that we are Charlton and are unlikely to do things that easily . 1-1 ( Dougherty)
Orient is a well coached side with a strong defense and good central midfielders. However the three players who led their attack last year haven’t returned having been replaced by DJ and Kelman neither of which have proven to be high level scorers(although Kelman has looked good so far). This has 0-0 draw written all over it with a Pratley red card in the 88th minute

You do know we sold Dougherty to Stoke years ago 🤣

Sorry Fanny, just read your comment
Don't worry, Chunes.
Some of my posts invariably end up on stony ground.
Must be an age thingy.
2-0
Hopefully a 2-0 home win

It's how we need to be for a bit
