Lived in Suffolk for 9 years, and although it's your "next door neighbour" so to speak @Braziliance, the thing with East Anglia is the concept of time, it's really slow, which was great but also everything works on a three letter word "ish".
Opening and closing times are very much "ish", pub opening times and days they open are also very much up to the landlord, and if they are not too busy to open, or close early if there was no one in the pub... I remember making a reservation for an evening meal at a local pub, and receiving a call 30 minutes before the booking asking me to choose over the phone what we wanted because we were the only booking that night, and wanted to get it out of the freezer.
I'm sure that you will have a great time in your new environment, just be ready for a new way of life, and enjoy mate...👍1 -

One of my besties lives in the centre of Naaaaaarwich. It’s great!
She married a local lad & after she retired they moved back there. Weirdly, his brother lives in Bromley & has become a season ticket holder (before their recent success) so they commute to see Brommers quite regularly.2 -
We moved from Kent to Suffolk nearly 2 years ago and we both love it. On the whole I prefer the countryside, coastal spots and towns to Kent and it's easier to find proper old pubs........... and I'm sure in about 50 years the locals will even begin to think about saying hello
I've tried trains (different routes and sometimes driving the first bit) to get to home games but haven't found any of them beat driving down tbh. Driving will usually take me between 1.5 and 2 hours....... I'm a few miles from Bury St Edmunds. My route is A14/M11/Blackwall tunnel. The fastest drive is always coming home after a Tuesday night game as the tunnel is at its best then. Trains average and hour or so more than driving but from Norwich there may be faster London trains than I can get?
Hope all the moving stuff goes really well for you next week.0 -

Probably worth checking if they have got electricity yet. Sure fire sign they haven't is the streetlights will still be gas.

Driving down for Stevenage
Prefer the train when I can
Try to do one game a month, basically
Up for a Charlton chat beer.
A few years ago we had a good turnout for Charlton v Fulham at the Murderers pub when @UEAAddick was here and got it organised3 -

I'm way out the other side of Norwich, about 6 miles south of Cley on the north cost, and drive down to most home games - I miss the occasional midweek match because I can't be arsed to drive and then some clash with holidays etc but I've not done too bad out of my season tickets over the years.
Went to UEA in 1990 and apart from a couple of years after graduation and then a spell when my job was moved to London I've been in Norfolk since.
Left at 7am this morning for the lunchtime ko, currently treating grandson to Macca's breakfast in Newmarket, be back on the road shortly and hopefully at Charlton early enough to bag a decent parking spot (but not too early that we're hanging around for hours!).5 -

An area that we refer to as "Three Nipple Country".

Yep, didn't realise it was an early k.o. - what a complete idiot! Missed the game and watched the Orient v Man City game. I've been so focussed on the F.A. Cup and rugby games for my father-in-law. He is partially-sighted and nearly 91, so I produced a large print timetable for him as he refuses to pay for sky, as it is a good weekend for him to watch sport on the tv - so I missed when our game was!1 -

Normal route is Briston - Fakenham - Swaffham - Mundford.
Depending on the traffic I'll either turn left to Thetford and join the A11 there or go straight on to Brandon. Then it's a choice of on to Elveden to get onto the A11 (which was today's route) or down past Lakenheath and join the A11 at Fiveways. If I take the Lakenheath route it's 50 miles before I even see a dual carriageway!
I used to go down to the Blackwall Tunnel but over the last year the traffic has been so horrendous because of the Silvertown Tunnel works it was taking too long to get to Charlton and I was struggling to get parked (I even missed the Orient game because I hadn't even reached Charlton by half time) so now I go round the M25, over the bridge, A2, off at the Sun In The Sands, Shooters Hill Road, Marlborough Lane, find parking space.
Today's plan had been to go to Macca's at Fiveways but it was closed so a minor detour off the Newmarket bypass to their McDs had to do!1 -

If I remeber correctly it was a 5:30pm kick off, possibly against Pompey.1 -
It seems that the resort has become popular with Bulgarians working at the behest of Mr Putin
