  • Websites that you sign up to, and are happy to hear about their products, but then start to send you an e-mail every bloody day. So in the end you just block or delete without looking at them. Like the bosses of companies that utilise call centres, surely the folk in charge of these companies feel the same, but still they persist in something I am sure pisses far off more people than it impresses?
There will be a very clear algorithm that is managing "unsubscribes" versus "new subscribers". I agree everyone has a tolerance depending on the product and the frequency - I don't mind seeing holiday marketing content, I have less tolerance for shoes.

I am sure there are SA, trouble is that does not include "don't bother looking ats", which is what I - and am sure many others - have become?

taking time to unsubscribe can be very cathartic.

I get exactly where you are coming from, but the point is, they are things I am interested in. I do actually want to know when the sale is, or when the new range is in, if I unsubscribe I won't know. But I don't need updating about everything the company does on a daily basis - M&S for example.
  • See this doesn’t annoy me , I love it.
They can all email me 5 times a day.
My £80 shop with Ocado is coming tomorrow with a 30% off discount.
    Keep sending those emails.
  • BBC main news programmes advertising Question Time & Kuenssberg. That's not news, so shouldn't be on a news programme.
  • Hollywood's drive for money, by just re-making films that were released 20-30 years ago now, rather than taking risks - I saw something the other day, an interview with Matt Damon, where he puts it down to the lack of DVD sales now

e.g. Films would be released > bring in profit > DVD would be released > Bring in a second wave of profit.

DVDs dont exist now, streaming brings in less money, so studios are eager to take less risk, and so stick to endless genres, like what we're seeing with the exhaustion of Superhero films, because they know that the majority like them.

Now we're getting to the stage of them making Live Action re-makes of some of the best animated films out there, its nothing new what with Disney - But was watching "How to Train Your Dragon" last night with my Son, one of the best animated films in recent years and one of my all time favourites - Was sitting there watching, wondering if there is a chance of a fourth film or (I joked to myself), a Live Action version... Which I dont think would work.

Went on to Wiki this morning, just to see... Yup... the Live Action film is actually coming out next June!!

    Great job with being original!!
  • Just got my car insurance renewal,up almost 400.00 to 967.00.a quick call.took about 2 minutes and it was reduced to 807.00,why do they do this waste of everyones time, good mind to tell them to poke it as long as i get a better quote.
Just got my renewal 1168. Its eye watering. And you have to have a conversation with a computer to get it down.

no wonder they make it so difficult to opt out of auto-renewal.

Just got it down to £931. I appreciate they are a businesses and there to make money but I do feel I've had my trousers pulled down by Direct Line. They quoted for my old car which was £630, I told them that I was buying a new one and they charged me an additional £12 to take me up to the new renewal date. I checked today as my renewal goes out on the 11th and to my surprise it wasn't an additional £12 per month but an annual increase of over £500. They hadn't written to me informing me of this increase, I only noticed it when I checked my Direct Line account documents. I then spent 45 minutes "talking" to a bot.
Next year Direct line will have one less customer.

Solicitors. Specifically the uselessness of the one handling the sale of my house. Even the estate agent is chasing me to chase my solicitor to get them to deal with queries from the buyer's solicitor.
I chased mine last thursday, she said she had the query in her inbox and would deal with it that afternoon. Today, after i'd chased her AGAIN, she simply forwarded the questions she's been sitting on for 8 days, totally unnecessarily.
There is no chain. First time buyers want my house, and I'm not buying one so it should be the easiest transaction ever. Yet the solicitor (on the eastate agent's panel) is managing to fuck the whole thing up by being utterly useless.

I worked for a building society for years, Solicitors were the bane of my life when trying to get a Mortgage completion. It's very hard to get an answer, or any sort of response. Urgent is not a word in their vocabulary.
  • Practically evrything right now.
  • Sorry if it's mentioned above, but people who play media on their phones at full volume, in public places like bars and trains, without earphones which come with every smartphone.

Also dog owners who put bags of dogshit in a normal bin when there is a dedicated red one nearby. Attracts flies, and a dozen a day soon fills up the bin so rubbish overflows and blows into my garden.

People who throw litter out of their cars, and litterbugs in general. Recently came back from holiday in Turkiye, sooo clean, but never saw a council picker-upper. It just doesn't happen.
It very much does happen in every urban area of Turkey I’ve ever been to.

Parts of Istanbul are strewn with litter as there are no bins for security reasons.

the rest of your post is spot on.
  • Dogshit. Just because theres leaves on the pavement doesnt mean it gets left for people to tread in. Twice in 3 days I've stepped in it walking my dog😡

Happened to me at Shaftesbury Avenue last week. Both boots, couldn’t believe luck, why can’t people clean up the mess they have let their animals have created?

  • Chancel repair insurance - bloody waste of money, a thing only solicitors recommend. More chance of being struck by lightning or abducted by aliens
  • David Beckham appearing in TV adverts.

The Beckham's are worth £455 million pounds according to this year's Sunday Times rich list, but there he is peddling cans of Stella.  Jeez David, move over, you've got enough, give someone else a chance to earn a few bob!

I can’t remember what we paid about 10 years ago, maybe about £80 I think. In the great scheme of things it isn’t a great deal of money when buying a house but I agree with you it’s just another add on. Maybe if you lived in a village with 5 other houses and a church it would make sense.
  • The premium is about £40 but the conveyancer charges £75 for admin.
    I've approached a broker...
  • Pitchside presentations, watching the England rugby last night, interviewer and three pundits on the side of the pitch, music blasting out and a light show, just get in a studio inside.

    kin ell, that's outrageous
  • Things like this make me murderously angry

What message does that sentence or lack of send? Allow touching up underage girls as its only an entry level offence and you'll only be up picking up litter if you can be bothered anyway

The cultural angle is conveniently swept away. And then what chances are there of girls who are victims of this type of behaviour coming forward and reporting these crimes if there is no consequential punishment. If the jails are full then geld all male sex offenders, or execute them

The judge says it was his first offence and I highly doubt that. More likely the first offence that has been reported.
