Making a journey on a National Express coach, paid a little extra to book a window seat in the hope of having a bit of space around me for what will be a good 7+ hours.
Had another look at the seating map and now found somebody has booked the aisle seat next to me yet the row behind both our seats are available still along with the odd other seat dotted about in the first 5 rows which are the only ones you can book.
My conclusion is that this person must be travelling in a group of at least 3 people who have also booked the other two seats in my row just so they can all sit together. Like really? do you need to sit directly next to each other across aisle seats for 7+ hours which will make the journey far more uncomfortable next to someone when they could have a two seater behind me to themself or likewise in the row directly behind the other two people they are likely travelling with. All just to sit in aisle seats next to each other.
And if it's a lone traveller who likes to be social they'll be disappointed when my headphones are on asap.

Italians. Italy is such a beautiful country with amazing food and natural beauty, yet it's all undermined by the older generations who simply cannot resist being dishonest.
Over the last fortnight my fiancée and I have driven from Leeds to Debrechen (Hungary) and back without any issues except in Italy where:
1) a hotel owner told us he hadn't received our booking.com payment and needed us to pay again quickly as he had another potential reservation he would accept if we didn't pay up (we were tired and did pay, however booking.com later confirmed that he had received payment).
2) we picked up a motorway toll both ticket in Milan and drove to Aosta where we were told that we had entered the wrong booth and would have to pay €90, however upon finding out that we had no cash, suddenly the fee was €25??!.
Glad to be in France where people are grumpy but are fundamentally honest.

Handed over a tenner in english money, received change for 100 euros
Luckily we avoided the French police that trip as those fuckers love a cash fine for any number of fabricated offences1 -
Car parking fines, which in this case I ain't paying.
Getting a fine to park and see my mum who is unfortunately in a care home. Me, my sister and my aunt have all been fined at different times. They have their own car park which has now got a sign-in system which since they have implemented it we have always signed into.
They have said we haven't on the days that they have issued the fines. Which is bollox. I now have to photograph each time I sign in. The whole reason for the restrictions on the car park is to stop people from parking there who shouldn't. I'm there as is my sister and aunt, for a legitimate reason which is to see my mum.
The care home doesn't want to get involved even though we are not the only ones who have problems with it.
The parking enforcement people are not letting it go. stress none of us need.what is the purpose of this car park registration? Surely it's to deter people from parking there who have no right to park there. Not people visiting loved ones? It's pretty obvious to me that it's either a computer error or something malicious. whole thing stinks.5 -

if it is a private company, isn't it the case they can't make you pay anyway ?1

I phoned my GP surgery this morning and, as usual, was in a queue. I was amazed to hear I was number one in the queue. This went on for a while and then changed to number two in the queue. How does that work? Anyway I stay on for longer and move back up to one. Then I’m on the phone for a further 20 mins and my phone runs out of battery.0

They have sent that info to an independent company and I have given my thoughts on it all. I don't have any evidence apart from I say I put my registration in plus the fact I am there for a legitimate reason. This independent lot will then come back no doubt saying I have to pay and as @Arsenetatters has said some have just paid because they can't deal with the hassle.0 - Sponsored links:

Easy on a keypad to get them mixed up and a potential reason why it’s not ‘on the system’. Certainly a mistake I once made.Grounds for appeal ie innocent error if true perhaps.1 -

I don’t know if I’m in a minority on this, but my interest in the closed shop tournament Chelsea won in the summer was exactly zero, so as a result, I find Chelsea being frequently referred to as the ‘World Champions’ hugely triggering and makes me hate them more. That stupid winners badge on their shirts for league games is equally shite. Apart from it being a tournament that has nothing to do with the premier league, so shouldn’t be on their league game shirts, I find it pretty meaningless and a prime example of empty posturing.
But I suppose that suits them, the jumped up self-important little gobshites.

Loads of advice there.1 -
The whole sham with parking in this country is another layer of profit generating bureaucracy that does not help anyone but the faceless pant-sniffers who own these companies.
I got into a frank exchange of views with a parking warden a few months ago. I'd parked up within a permitted and guarded off worksite, it was a Friday and loads of people were parked up for Friday prayers, all over the show, double yellows, double parked, everywhere. This fucking warden actively skirted them, deciding instead to fight a losing argument with me. That pissed me off. I don't actually give two shits about how they were parked and it was abominable but it wasn't affecting me however I was greatly annoyed the guy whose job it is to deal with uncompliant parking decided it wasn't his job that day.

My mother died earlier this year in a care home in the Northumberland Heath area, they had this sign in policy at reception as well. I changed cars and never updated the info on the sign in tablet. It never occurred to me that I could have be liable for a fine. Both me and sister actually stopped signing in, we thought it was just a company policy they had and one we had grown bored of. If I had got a fine I think my response would have been similar to yours or told the company to take it out of the £1800 per week my mum was paying for the privilege of staring at a wall for 2 years.0 -

Taking a break from driving up the M1 by stopping at Newport Pagnell services. Hoping to sit peacefully with a coffee but the music inside is so loud it’s almost painful. Some sort of 70s soul type stuff - probably by a tribute band. Don’t want to go back to the van as I’ve sat in it all morning. Why does everywhere have to have music blasting? Can’t people sit peacefully?7

People who put way too much perfume/aftershave on.Thought I’d found a peaceful place to sit outside Newport-fecking-Pagnell services but I am downstream of a bloke wearing aftershave that could kill flies.13
