It's obviously not great but that stat is slightly misleading because he came in after the January window to a team very low on confidence that hadn't won for months and was heading for relegation. He was working with players that he didn't sign and did a pretty reasonable job in getting us to safety with games to spare.
7 defeats in 30 isn't bad at all. The issue is we don't have any creative spark to turn those draws into wins.
The figures are correct and in no way misleading
22 points from 16 games last season
19 points from 14 this
Will Jones be anywhere these points total after 30 games this season as per below?
09/10: 57 points - 3rd - Parkinson
11/12: 68 points - 1st - Powell
18/19: 54 points - 4th - Bowyer
All those seasons managers in their first full season in charge, just like Jones at present
To me you got to question the players commitment.we can’t keep blaming manager after manager how can they play like that against Birmingham then not be able to string a pass together since. Then injuries why are all our players injured season after season. you used to have half the team present in every squad and 2/3 would play every game nowadays your lucky to see 1 player be present in every match.
Slightly controversial, but I don’t think the injury situation is as bad as is being made out. I think we’re probably missing ~3 players that would make the first team which, at this stage of the season, doesn’t feel horrific.
Feels like we always have injuries and we’ve been through worse.
I don’t think it’s controversial, I posted a break down the other day. Most of the injured players don’t improve our starting 11.
Jones was clutching at straws when boosting the numbers by mentioning Edun being injured (our third choice LWB, and he could easily be overtaken by Enslin), despite being on the bench.
It gives Jones an explanation for our form, but what’s really happened is his plan to battle harder and hoof it long hasn’t worked as he expected. Docherty isn’t the goalscoring midfielder he hoped he would be, Ahadme not the target man we needed and so on.
Who would we get if we did sack him? We need stability.
This.
In the little over three and a half years since Bowyer left, we have had six full time managers. This churn has not improved our standing and last season was our lowest league position for ninety+ years. Given that and remembering it took Curbishley, albeit in straightened times, seven years to get his first promotion maybe, just maybe, it might be worth sticking with a manager, who does have a promotion on his CV, for a little longer.
Of course, if Klopp fancies spending some time in the capital……..
He should be sacked just for not signing a creative midfielder which every person could see we needed
I just can't fathom the thinking behind this? The team is devoid of any attacking threat whatsoever, we don't have anyone who can beat a man, we don't have any pace (only TC). If we don't sign x2 creative/attack minded midfielders in Jan I will lose hope in NJ.

Yes, Jones clearly went for an approach that wanted to focus on physicality and endeavour and it equally clearly isn't working.
If he acknowledges it and changes course in January then it won't exactly make it "okay" as we've lost half a season already, but it shows that he can at least acknowledge the mistake and work to correct it.
If he doesn't or just doubles down on it then all faith is gone on my part. Self belief is one thing, wilful delusion is another entirely.
Powell👏🏻 Does👏🏻Not👏🏻Want👏🏻the👏🏻Job. And who can blame him. He has a nice gig at Sheffield Wednesday.
I am more annoyed we sacked Jackson and Euell never got a chance (and I apply annoyance to AFC Wimbledon (obviously this isn't about the Jackson sacking) as well, the guy score goals, but can't catch a break).
So many fans in the summer (including myself) pointed out the lack of attacking creativity, yet our recruitment team somehow couldn't identify this. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes and address the situation in January, but I'm not holding my breath.

Safer to call it as it happens. If we keep going at the current rate, no, but the key word in that statement is 'IF' as the past can't be used to predict the future with certainly.

Slight disagreement from me - the recruitment team were fully aware, this was a completely intentional situation. They DID identify it but thought it would work anyway. Trying to go with a physical approach was a deliberate choice but it's one that went wrong.

He signed the players!!!
And the fact they’re capable of Birmingham but not delivering it suggests poor management/ coaching
Without doubt we are under performing and yes NJ is a highly strung loon. However when he signed the likes of Berry, Cambell, Doc I assume like the majority on here he expected them to be the players they had been previously. These are players that had played successfully in the Championship and also didnt disgrace themselves in the Premiership but WTF !!! Berry last night was playing against a 2nd string league two outfit who were resting most of their 1st team and he still looked miles off it !!! Then Doc comes on and does nothing exceptional, I think we could be excused for thinking they should look a class above in those circumstances but if anything they looked out of their depth !! it just doesnt make any sense

We hear you.....but can we interest you in yet another holding midfielder who we can shoehorn into the #10 role? Maybe it'll work this time, who knows!

The last statement you make here is the most poignant for me, it doesn't make any sense how bad our players look as footballers we know they have achieved elsewhere and surely can't be as average as they're showing currently and surely Nath isn't saying 'What I want is for you all to be static as fuck, lump anonymous balls up the pitch and don't anticipate the drop or challenge for seconds'. I am completely at a loss as to where its going wrong, except for the fact we have absolutely no pace in the team when TC and Ramsay are out, but that doesn't answer much for me as we play with no width, we keep calling it a 3 at the back when it's always a 5, a 3 would imply your wingbacks are bombing on which ours just do not do

Exactly my point mate it isnt like the Ben Watson situation where clearly his legs had gone, these players should be in their prime and they all look so far off its ridiculous ! dont get me started on Ahadme who without doubt tries and puts the effort in but just doesnt have the pace to be a professional footballer in my eyes, Im 62 and have smoked all my life never really done anything to remain in peak fitness but I honestly would back myself in a 20 yard sprint against him

A correction is needed either way of course.
🤷🏼♂️
Am not advocating on Jones getting the bullet BTW.
