Peterborough game (Ed. Postponed)

  • Excellent news, as with our current form, I could only see a bad defeat.

Great for Small to get an England U20 callup, to give it its "proper" name. A sign of how the outside world rates him too.

Booked on a 6am flight from Athens on Saturday to get to the game.  :(

Look on the bright side, now you don’t have to watch Charlton!

Apparently the England Elite Squad is the new name for the under 20’s team. Assuming Small has been called up because someone else has dropped out as he’s not included in the squad announced on the FA’s website:

if this is the England under 20’s team (and I’m not 100% on that) then it’s pretty impressive for him to be included, some decent players in that squad. God knows what it’ll be like for him to go from playing with that calibre of player and then back to the likes of Allan Campbell.

Given the horrendous injury list -again - this seems like a mercy. Use the time well, NJ.
  • Weird that other than the Pizza Trophy vs Bromley, we'll go an entire month without any home fixtures.

    3 away league games.
    2 away FA Cup games.

I think it might mean we don’t have to play another league match without Lloyd Jones, we’re pretty hopeless without him.

After this spell we could be near the relegation zone.

Unless some of them are already in Charlton for the game, they can naff off after giving us 75 minutes' notice for a postponement.
  • Have friends already booked to come down from Scotland for this one. It is quite ridiculous for games to be called off at less than a week’s notice. Must be hard for some departments at the club too - they started promoting a bring a friend offer last week for this one.

Small call-up a big surprise. Not sure where that came from.

Yeah and without being too train spotter about it I would think they're not losing advance purchase train tickets as it's the same price on the day. (I bow down to anyone's superior knowledge with this.)

Was that the covid game, when the 14 day isolation rule existed but the game was on day 15?

    Answering my own question, no!!!!

i remember the 75min game. My dad was already in Peterborough and I enjoyed calling him to break the news 😂
  • Well done to Thierry with some good coaching I have no doubt he will be really good.
I remember watching him against Carlisle and other than Dobbo was the best player on the pitch!
Again as with Leaburn, TC, and past players like Gomez, Konsa he will come good, can see him in the PL one day!
Just needs to knuckle down and work hard, most of all he has the engine, the under 20s could be a springboard for him, I wish him well!

Less revenue with the game being moved to a midweek. Can’t say I had Small on the list of a possible international call up
I heard that Scott was feverishly ringing around the various Nations trying to see if they wanted any players next weekend...😄

I have it on good authority he plans to spend the next 2 weeks looking at recordings of Luton players from 2016 onwards to see if there is any one we can add in the Jan window
Give him some credit feller, he doesn’t use recordings, he uses his memory, recordings can be interfered with…

Arblaster of Sheff U went off with a bad injury today.
  • We have injuries & are playing terrible

Posh are the opposite. Playing well & smashing goals in for fun.

Completely get why we’ve bottled it.

Bollocks, the only game I've actually been looking forward to lately as it's my sons 11th birthday, and he was booked to be mascot. Might as well just get a refund and not bother with the replay.

Me too. Already spent £35 on train ticket. Can't get refund. Isn't that a bit late to call it off?
  • Saved us from another embarrassment
  • Could be a big crowd for the Bromley match, with people looking for their football fix, could add at least another 500 to the crowd.

It’s allowed within rules currently re internationals but makes little sense when all the lobbying from FSA re Sky etc is based on giving proper notice to fans.
