TV progs not as good as you remember.

edited November 17 in General Charlton
Just saw an episode of the Cuckoo Waltz on Rewind telly, seemed to remember quite enjoying it back in the day (with the dishy Diane Keen, and Lewis Collins with big floppy hair). Clocked it today and it stank on ice. Theres a few programmes that don't live up to rose tinted memories like Bless This House. Any others?

  • Up Pompeii, managed 10 minutes the other day. It was absolutely tragic, might just have been my timing of viewing but not a laugh in sight.

used to look forward to that late on a saturday evening, but you're right its painful.
  • Another ITV comedy, used to be on a Friday - Watching- about a nerdy bird watcher and a gobby girl.

    Jim’ll Fix It
I work with a bloke who says he went on it.

He asked Jim to show him how to tie his shoe laces properly. This was apparently done in the studio.

He said that on the same show some girl wanted to swim with turtles and was flown to Bali (or similar) to do so.
  • I tried watching Call My Bluff on iPlayer a couple of weeks back. I thought I liked Frank Muir, but in reality I think I just liked the Fruit and Nut ads. Call my Bluff was so painfully slow it felt like I'd doubled my age by the time that a semi-comatosed me managed to hit the off button about ten minutes in. Was life really so painfully slow back then? It seems like it wasn't just music that needed Punk Rock's big kick up the arse.

I used to watch that, and also from the States, Cheers: both very dated now.

I watched an episode recently and was amazed that the guests were smoking.

    I loved Diane Keen.
  • The Goodies .

Used to love it but watched an episode recently and it was awful .
The Goodies and Monty Python seem horribly dated.
  • Randall and Hopkirk deceased.

  • Not watched either since the 70's. loved both series back then. As a teenager of the time,Dianne keen and the daughter in bless this house did attract my attention!

Probably, on the buses and love my neighbour would fit into of there time as being dated now.
  • The Persuaders

  • Blake 7. They must have made that for about £2.50.
  • The Persuaders

Give me a sentence containing the word ‘deliver’.

Step forward the Italian in the class……

”Too mucha vino is no good for deliver”

I could have sworn that was the Spanish fella

Might have been. Equally shite 😄
  • The Herbs and Bagpuss - far less episodes than I thought there were. I guess my memory retention was a lot less then, although it seems to be regressing towards what it used to be!
