I’m not sure if it down to my optimism at the start of the season but the pain of watching us this season is even worse than normal. Under Adkins, Garner, Holden I could see what they were trying to do this team I have no clue other than let other midfields pass through us and then pump it forward when our defense has the ball it’s totally soul destroying

How on earth do we line up in the second half now? Same as the end of the first but with TC for Godden? 432 with A Campbell/Berry replacing Small?

Evidence suggests sacking  our manager seldom works.

We probably need to sub Godden now to make that bank of four in midfield, probably will be Alan Campbell to come on.
Hopefully be Tyreece... Can then play a proper 4-4-1 with Small and TC on the wings providing pace.

Its frustrating, as their Defence cant handle Leaburn, we can rarely find him ourselves

I'll happily roll the dice one more time and see if it works this time.

We are just awful, week after week.

No chance with this squad, if we strengthen in January it could be a different story but I don’t have faith in Jones and Scott to sign the right players

Since when has a moment lasted 5 years?

Bad enough watching this team, having Luke young and highlights at half time how far we have fallen is just masochistic.

Might as well go for it 2nd half.  No point sitting back & trying to defend. Attack them & keep the ball down their half. We wont stop them scoring so might as well try to get at least one ourselves.

I agree, but its not good when we can think of so few examples isnt it...

Probably a red there… stupid by Docherty.

I don’t see us getting much “better” than Jones and he is on a 5 year contract, which will cost a small fortune to pay out.

We can’t keep chopping and changing managers and I think we need to start looking at this as a work in progress instead of wanting instant success.

We are shit, but we were shit under Appleton, Garner, Adkins and Jackson all of which lasted under a year.

Give jones another summer and judge him next year I think. Not ideal, but the conveyor belt hasn’t worked for us and it’s time to change approach.

To the poster and those that have liked this, how bad does it have to get for you? What makes you think that Jones will get it right in another window when he hasn’t got it right this one? He was allowed to sign players he picked, we had the fourth highest budget in the league with 2 of the clubs in front of us having ridiculous money that you can’t expect us to compete with, it’s all well and good saying that we need to give him time but there’s absolutely no positives right now. None.
I would say that if we sink to fighting relegation again then I would change, but all the time we are mid to upper mid table I think we give him time.

Based on the past few years do you think that getting rid of a manager within 1 year of being at the club has worked? Do you have any suggestions at who may come in and fix this? If you asked the majority of this fan base at the start of last year if they would accept Nathan Jones coming in as manager I bet we would have bitten your hand off.

Clearly it hasn’t worked so far, and the players he has brought in have been mixed - but I personally don’t think changing again within months is the answer, someone else with different ideas will come in wanting to play a different formation and round and round we go again.

How on earth have we ended up with a squad of players who can't pass the ball, can't take a corner, can't capitalise on set pieces or show any passion? if this season is to be saved a change of manager and the whole coaching staff has to happen before Santa empties his sack!

Time flies when you're having fun😬
  • One minor bonus going into the 2nd Half is the fact that Huddersfield have already been forced to make two subs due to injuries - Unless they make a change or two at HT, they'll only be allowed the one stoppage now to make changes.

Hopefully its helped f**k with their tactical approach to the game too

True, I'm not convinced with Jones hoofball but surely we should give his coaching team a season to maybe give us some attractive, winning football. Maybe send them on a fact-finding, best practice opportunity at Wycombe

We’ve seem new manager bounces, to some extent of another, with Bowyer, Adkins, Holden, Jackson, Appleton, and Jones. Only Bowyer was able to build on it, all the rest faded and that’s why they got sacked. Jones is heading the same way.

It’s impossible to prove if sticking with any of those managers would have made things better in the long run but none of them have done particularly well since leaving us.

It’s not just about giving ANY manager time, it’s about giving the RIGHT manager time. I’m not yet calling for Jones to be sacked, but I also can’t build a strong argument that he is showing to be that right manager who deserves time. His tactics are shit. His signings have been shit. And we are getting worse with time, not better.
  • At least he will now be suspended for 3 matches!!!!

the thing I don’t like is the guy was rolling around the floor, red came out and the guy stood up and run off. I hate football
