I don’t see us getting much “better” than Jones and he is on a 5 year contract, which will cost a small fortune to pay out.
We can’t keep chopping and changing managers and I think we need to start looking at this as a work in progress instead of wanting instant success.
We are shit, but we were shit under Appleton, Garner, Adkins and Jackson all of which lasted under a year.
Give jones another summer and judge him next year I think. Not ideal, but the conveyor belt hasn’t worked for us and it’s time to change approach.
To the poster and those that have liked this, how bad does it have to get for you? What makes you think that Jones will get it right in another window when he hasn’t got it right this one? He was allowed to sign players he picked, we had the fourth highest budget in the league with 2 of the clubs in front of us having ridiculous money that you can’t expect us to compete with, it’s all well and good saying that we need to give him time but there’s absolutely no positives right now. None.
I don't know. There's not some set marker in the sand. Maybe a year, maybe next week. There's no science to it, it's just whatever people think. I'd be very surprised if anyone is saying they are satisfied with what they are seeing, but @AmpshireAddick's concluding comment is spot on, 'the conveyor belt hasn’t worked for us and it’s time to change approach'.
How on earth have we ended up with a squad of players who can't pass the ball, can't take a corner, can't capitalise on set pieces or show any passion? if this season is to be saved a change of manager and the whole coaching staff has to happen before Santa empties his sack!
It was a poor challenge from Docherty, but that should be a yellow. I’ve just seen the replay again. The Hudds player doesn’t even need the trainer on. As soon as the red card is given, he gets up on his own and his team-mates shake his hand? .WTF? Never mind the TC challenge, compare it with the Clare challenge on Edwards.
It was at about this point in his ownership that Sandgaard mentally checked out. I wonder how much more interest in this type of football our consortium have left in them?
So, the red card. My view for what it’s worth. He’s gone in hard, he intended to get the ball. The referee has a perfect view of the incident, no bodies in the way. He gives a free kick and then seems to be looking at the linesman as he is walking towards the player on the ground, I don’t know why, he saw what happened. He talked to the player on the ground, listened to the Huddersfield players surrounding him and slowly brought out the red. In my experience when you see an incident like that, the red normally comes out straight away.
Can we identify a single player NJ has signed that has improved the squad, apart from Small/Edwards and thats only because we didnt have a dedicated LB.

Ramsay, as we've also been shocking at Full-Back in general
What are we actually TRYING to do here? What's our game plan or tactics to try and score a goal?
I've been saying exactly that from the start of the season. Nothing has changed. We have no attacking strategy, its just that at the beginning of the season the pressed the fcuk out of teams and hoped something would drop from a mistake

Mitchell and Ramsey. He's been shite with midfielders and attacking players though.

Leaburn is a quality player if only we could create more decent opportunities for him.
Miles is destined for greater things, we know that but it would be nice if we could tie him down to a longer contract, trouble is, what incentive is there?!

Dont think we will get relegated so might as well stick with him. We aren't going up either so finishing 7th or 17th doesn't make any difference.
Hopefully this is a decent start as a whole to this half, and not just a 5-10min moment
