Nevermind, wrong player in regards to "unnamed league one club"

Still gives it a bit of legs though.
  • Barlaser would be an interesting rumour too. Although probably far too similar to Doc and Coventry for it to be us. Would think if Rotherham could get him back they would.

Middlesbrough midfielder Alex Gilbert in talks to join Charlton on loan.
Window Watch in today’s Daily Mail.
Checking FM, he’s a left footed 10 who can also play out wide or up front. Only 23 and not played much first team football.

He’s also 6 ft so passes the height test.

English born but played for Ireland u21s and u19s.
Played alongside Coventry for Ireland U 21s (also Gavin Kilkenny and Evan Ferguson)

So a teammate of Coventry for Ireland?

Never heard of him but that says more about me than him.

Certainly that profile matches what we need and have said to be looking for.

Having been at Brentford a move to the Smoke won't phase him either.

Transfermkt says he is right footed?

  • A Brummie to keep Thierry Small company. Indeed both might have been in the WBA academy at the same time, though Gilbert is 3 years older.

Boro just recently signed Whittaker from Plymouth as well so pushes Gilbert further down the pecking order. Would assume they’ll let him go out on loan but no chance we’d secure him on a permanent, if we are interested.
Why no chance, wages? At his age I’d imagine at some point he’ll want regular first team football.

He's been a decent signing, if we got the version that Rotherham had back in 2021-22... Got nine goals at this level for them, which is just what we need from a Midfielder

Thankfully Rotherham have changed Manager since he was last there
  • You should never turn down Pusey lads, and lasses of course...
  • The weirdos always appear around the transfer windows!
  • Looking at the hands in that picture - I'd say AI generated...

Obviously very fake, but I wouldn't want him anyway, as every player we've signed from Citeh have been pants. We could sign Haaland and Foden from them and they'd probably combine for about 20 appearances and a solitary goal between them
  • Championship midfielders between the age of 22 and 31 who have played less than 50% of their team's minutes and been an unused sub 10 times or more this season:

    - Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu (Luton)
    - Adil Aouchiche (Sunderland)
    - Ousmane Diakite (West Brom)
    - John Buckley (Blackburn)
    - Jamie Allen (Coventry)
    - Ryan Ledson (Preston)
    - Josh McEachran (Oxford)
    - Jordan Houghton (Plymouth)
    - Jay Fulton (Swansea)
    - Marcus McGuane (Bristol City)
    - Andy Rinomhota (Cardiff)

Second on this list. Can I claim to be ITK now?
I absolutely would be if it was me, if that list was still around you’d be top

For many windows Rod Fanni was similarly linked because of his name .Amusingly he did end up playing for us.

Ah same line of thinking that meant we ended up with Lyle Taylor...
  • we all like some Fanni & Pusey down at Charlton
  • Barlaser was on my hitlist a couple of years ago - he was excellent.  His move hasn't worked out too well for him but he was a fine player in his Rotherham days
