  • Charlton goalkeepers could probably have their own thread but who remembers John Sullivan, I know he wasnt number 1 material but always had a soft spot for him and didnt think he was that bad.

    Jim Stannard?
Bit before by time, big man.
  • Sorry if this has already been asked, but why is the stream not available to UK & Irish viewers?

I thought the “overseas” rule only affected the Saturday blackout.

it will be on sky red button
  • Always enjoyed Charlie Wright between the sticks
  • Dreading how empty the ground is going to feel tonight:

let’s hope those of us there get rewarded

    Mike Ammann !!
  • I'm currently on Australia and have signed up for the match, but it's not registering on my account yet, despite receiving acknowledgement of the subscription.

    Is this just me?
  • Tough one as Crawley will press and keep 2 banks of 4 or 5. Can the guile of ou4 midfield find a way through. Not sure, 1-1 and they equalise late on from a corner.
  • I’m feeling very positive, 5-1 home win.
    Same here 4-1.

    If we're talking about goalkeepers
Why no mention of Sasa Ilic  :o

A must win game on a cold Tuesday night with the Valley just under a third full
Should be more than we had in the old First Division.

Bearing in mind we were plying our trade at Shit'ouse Park then...🙄

Hopefully we win and will be nice to see Elliot who is probably our best keeper since Kiely
I've thought about it and I don't think I'd put Elliot all that high for us. I'd put Carson, Hamer, Randolph, Pope and maybe even Phillips and Henderson above him since Kiely. Elliot wasn't particularly brilliant for us but he does have more than 50 Premier League appearances so maybe that's harsh
Pope was largely dire for us .  Randolph was better on his line but not commanding .  I’d have Hamer over Rob , mainly for the memories .
Pope was certainly not dire. Thuram was dire.
Kept letting shots under his body .
Think it was more low shots straight at him that would bounce off his chest. Seemed to happen quite often.
  • 4 degrees C tonight.  Does that warrant the fully thermalled up treatment - or just another layer?

He saved THE penalty, and had his golden period for 5 months in the back end of the '98 season then it all went to pieces for him after that.
Obviously he will never be forgotten for the penalty save at Wembley.

If you have Now TV with Sky Sports you will get the game
  • Crawley have drawn three and won one of their last four league games, I'm going for a draw.

And some passer-by doing the commentary

I don't remember him doing that. What he did do a few times was take shots to the chest and let them bounce off him and out to an attacker following up. It was annoying but the rest of his game was very good and he deserved his place and the Premier League move he got straight afterwards. He only had one major weakness and that was ironed out immediately with better coaching. Hardly dire but I do remember him getting disproportionate amounts of grief on here at the time.
