You have to love our fans. Our bad signings were all Scott and our best Jones. It is clearly not that linear. Both Jones and Scott had a hand in both our good and bad signings. In the end Scott wasn’t the right fit for the club but the need for our fans to demonize everyone who doesn’t work out (both management and players) is really bizarre
Telling surely neither (to my knowledge) Scott or CM were at Wembley or mentioned in dispatches if their roles were so valuable.
Why would they be at Wembley, neither of them work for the club anymore.
I don't turn up to my past company's Christmas party just because I worked for them previously.
Well an invite back given they only left recently would not be a surprise if they were wanted and instrumental given the article seeks to claim credit.
After all several ex players were in and around and likewise Chris Parkes as an example of a recently departed employee.
So I do see it as telling even if you do not.
That said it’s just individuals trying to big up their credentials for future roles.
If anyone went to an away game during the second half of the season, you may have met Richard, Kayne’s Dad. I had a beer with him before a game and asked the question of the connection with Jones, and there is none. They didn’t cross paths at Saints and Kayne was scouted by Charlton prior to Jones coming in.

Wasn't it Methven basically cherry picking all the best players to credit Scott, and some of our fans simply saying you should give a balance of the good and bad. Yet people bash our fans...

In which case I stand corrected and Sam3110 was correct.

Not just with them either.
Good signings were Gallen, bad signings were Driesen or Roddy
Football is like a panto where everything is OTT; oh no it isn't, oh yes it is !
I can't be the only person who thought Andy Scott would be a professional fit for CAFC after the Amateur nature of the Thomas SandGaard and son tenure.
After his bad judgement on Appleton he was always going to be the fall guy for every bad signing and getting no credit even if it was his network of contacts and scouts that recommended Ramsey, Edwards, Jones, Gillesphey, Small or any of the player that did a job in achieving promotion.
Andy Scott was surely behind some of our better signings but will be forever associated with the poor signings and loans because the stigma of Appleton will be his defining decision as he did the interview.
Where's the ball Spanners keeper; hopefully in the net behind him when we next meet !
NJ gave more than enough hints throughout the season that there was friction, or at least a difference of opinion between him and Scott. It didn’t matter if NJ got the team playing well, either outcome would’ve meant the end for Scott. Him and Methven had overseen enough failure to ensure their departure.
