Michail Antonio - car crash

  • How does that work? Not wearing a seat belt wouldn't somehow teleport you into the back seat?
Might do if the car spun.
That's hit something head on. I'd say if he wasn't wearing a seat belt he'd be dead. Either way, he's already totalled one motor at outrageous speed and told social media it cost him 20 grand a year to insure his car. This might sound insensitive, given the circumstances, but having seen the effects of shit driving first hand, and lost a friend to it when I was younger, I'd say he needs to stop driving like an arsehole. How would people feel if he'd taken another motor out instead of a tree of whatever it was he hit?
That’s mad. Better to pay for a driver surely at that cost level. Not much fun in driving anywhere in the UK these days.
He's been a PL player for a decade and earns about 75k a week so i doubt he's too bothered at 20k a year insurance (which will now be going a lot higher).
Of course you are right and the sums involved don’t really compare to us mere mortals.

But it’s another example to me of why the PL financial bubble should burst when players are able to fund that sort of thing with no consideration yet fans have to be fleeced at every opportunity. Stubbornly though it doesn’t burst and defies all logic.
  • It will possibly effectively end his career as he is now 34.
He'll be 35 by the time he is match fit.
Will he want to play in the lower leagues?
Can't see too many teammates accepting an offer of a lift to matches.

I’m sure Bonne still has a carpool group

    Noddy car.

Don't knock it, they are comfortable.

Particularly if he decides to be a coach driver.

He did recently go through a divorce which i assume wasn't cheap so if his crash injuries don't end his career i'm sure he'd probably want to continue at the highest level possible for another couple of years.
  • Here’s a tip , don’t drive like a Cnut in atrocious driving conditions ( any conditions tbh ) and I reckon you’ll probably be alright.
  • Having totalled a Lamborghini and a Ferrari I'm curious what he'll go for next.

I can think of one L1 club who will give him one last pay day while remaining in London. He won’t even need to put in much effort.

Assuming the manager who doesn’t like wingers is gone by the time he’s fit of course.

Social media speculation as always, people love to look important

    I've read everything from:

    He's dead
    His legs were both mangled
    He wasn't wearing a seatbelt
    He was driving too fast
    He will never play again

1 obviously wasn't true and no one can possibly know any of the others.
  • Wishing MA a speedy recovery but with smashes of this nature, is it any wonder why our insurance premiums are going through the roof.

As an aside my neighbour plays for Millwall - I’ve already told him that I’m disappointed with him - when he passed his test his insurance was £7k a year on a Nissan Leaf. He’s now progressed onto the obligatory Mercedes and his insurance has gone up to £8.5k

I was told he was wearing full millwall kit and had bottle of baby oil and box of kleenex in his lap.

He’s going to need more than spanner to repair the car.

You can't see the wood for the trees in Epping:

Oohaah was sitting on the Khazi having a dump when he heard an almighty bang. He rushed out and checked the Skid marks, took a selfie with Michail Antonio and stated he would always get a game with Charlton.
This made Michail realize the gravity of the situation.

Oohaah, then went back indoors and after checking for skid marks realized that health is paramount.

We can wish Antonio a speedy recovery even if it will be best if he uses an Uber or Black cab as a little knowledge would go a long way.
