Very hard one to gauge.  Absolutely no idea who will play. If we lose or draw and play badly, the crowd will make it very clear how they feel and pressure will ramp up on jones. This lot are in terrible form, worse than us, but so were Bristol Rovers and they totally outplayed us. I’m praying for an upturn, but predict a 1:2 defeat

Anything other than a resounding victory for Charlton and Jones will be gone (or should be) by the time the World Darts Championship starts on Sunday.

Another shocking defeat should see him on his way before Strictly starts on Saturday evening.

4-0 Charlton. Gasman hattrick with the doc scoring a 80 yard screamer.

    What did you say?

Just leave Nathan , you are unable to cope with being a manager.

Kanu and Godden is the right combination up top. Having Ahadme or Leaburn up there gives the team an easy get out to lump it long to the big man

After crawley town if we lose tomorrow then things almost certainly will get toxic

  • This feels like us doing them a favour to end their losing streak, in a 1-0 or 2-1 loss.  I'm not going tomorrow though so we'll probably actually win.

Every time I see Mansfield I'm reminded of Chris Greenacre who was a Championship Manager legend back in the day.

I don't really expect a different performance tomorrow, we're really poor in possession, just aimless kicks up field most of the time

Like the team in the opening post
  • Another load of drivel coming up. But remember he took over this team in 18th place and he cannot change things over night. Maybe he should have kept that team from last season as they only lost 2 matches. Mansfield need a win to pick up their season. Welcome to the Valley, have the 3 points, take a 2-0.win and we will even let you outplay us for 90mins.

We win and it's "Nathan Jones' red n white army", we lose and it'll be "Sacked in the morning".
  • I can see Ahadme starting. I assume he was rested midweek, rather than dropped or injured, and none of the other striker in his absence made themselves undroppable.

With Lloyd Jones and Mitchell back, I expect us to be back to the dull solidity of last Saturday, so a tight game where we my sneak a 1-0 or draw 0-0 or 1-1.

I'm not sure that would stop them doing it.

    It worked against Birmingham
  • Either way, for once I won't be there. With the Strictly Come Dancing final at 6pm, no way could I get home in time after the match. If we had been playing better football, I would have gone, but with the rubbish football at the moment, I'll stream it instead.

Which ironically benefits the club, as I'll be paying my £10 to watch it from Belgium, which is more than I would spend at the game tomorrow.
  • No way can we be this shit forever , it's a fucking nothing team we're playing 2-0 and the welsh dragon will fire off some more bollox

To go or not to go, that is the question.

No, no, no, no, no!! Not another game!

Please Lord, in the name of all that is Holy I beseech thee: make it stop!

Don't watch it, listen to it, or follow it on the Match thread then.
Do make sure you snivel about it on the Post Match thread though.
    Tell you what:

I'll make the 270-mile, 6½ hour round trip - like I do (almost) every home game - and make my usual contributions to the match thread ... I'll probably leave the post-match thread because by the time I've got home I've had enough.

None of that stops me whinging like hell about the torture we have to go through watching this crap under Jones.
Oh, I am sorry. You are going to the match and making a 270-mile, 6½ hour round trip like you do (almost) every home game.
Your post was simply trying to make a humorous attempt at highlighting how poor the team have been playing recently. Silly me...

I don't know about the other CL doomsters but this one here thinks we will be outplayed, outrun, outfought and lose 2-0. Up the haddocks.

I’d keep Tyreece at Right wing back. He offers a lot more attacking threat than Laqeretabua, who I don’t think would be good at wing back

I’d also start Anderson over Berry, he isn’t good but we play better with him on the pitch just due to his energy. Him and Kanu should bring some of that front footed aggression that we need
Tyreece is useless at wingback, total waste. He is a right winger, not a striker, nor a wingback, nor a 10-a winger

Defo win this. Not even a poor Charlton side can lose to a team  that they've never lost to & who have just lost their last 5 league games.

2-0. And put your money on the gee-gee's. Godden & Gasman
  • If he plays, we know Gregory will score. Don't have faith at the moment that we can score twice to then win.

Joking? Otherwise, we've hit a low point when fans are choosing Saturday night tv over The Valley.

Who else is any good there ? Bar the one of the guys that’s often injured .

442 for me with Small and Campbell wide .  A bit of pace and skill , rather than the abject dross we’ve got used to .  We might still
lose but at least there might be something to enjoy

I actually think we’ll win this one. Not sure it’s going to be pretty, but we’ll get the three points.

Bound to win this as Im laid up with a chest infection so not going today. 3-1,Godden with 2 after we let in a soft goal from 45 yards,Gasman to settle the nerves with a late 3rd. Ive been on lots of drugs this week so this may or may not play out

It would be hard to predict if we were not so predictable. A lot of huff and puff but hardly any decent chances. Mansfield maybe have one or two and it is a question of which side can take what few chances they have. I predict a hard watch.........as per usual.
