  • Great pricing but how have we been given less than 1k allocation?

We haven’t we’ve been given an initial allocation that will be more than adequate
  • I fancy this, especially as I’ve never been to Deepdale, although I’m not sure how, if at all, travel will be impacted by the Avanti rail strikes.

For the upcoming strikes on Sundays from 12 January to 25 May 2025, we’ll provide more information on your ticket options and our expected service as soon as possible.

    You've made me laugh.
    This is Avanti west coast.

  • How is that only a 900 odd allocation? That’s about 4% of their capacity.

Because we're not going to sell 900. They'll give us more if we do.

The answer is to get an early train, so if it’s an hour late, you get all your money back. A decent source of secondary income

    The answer is.
I pay my train fare and they provide the service I payed for.
I'm not expecting things to run smoothly 100% of the time.
But 3 of the last 4 journeys haven't.
I'm 50 years old , just provide me with the service I've paid for.
Some people say I moan , even a few people I know on the trains have said what's the problem you'll be getting a full refund.
I don't want to get back to London 1hr 15 later than expected.
I don't want to be told the trains running 20 minutes late because a member of staff got up late.
Anyway, enjoy Preston if you're going , I shall be looking on to see how the train journey goes.

    All day long.
I travelled back from Totnes the day after Exeter away.  There were cancellations all over the place, our train was cancelled and as a result of later cancellations in the day the carriages had about 10-15 people standing in each once the train left Exeter.
Fortunately we were able to get two seats but that was still uncomfortable.  The train was still 15 minutes late getting into Paddington.
We got a full refund on our single tickets but I would rather have had no refund and my train on time and stress free.

    And that's another thing.
My lot , plymouth away a few seasons ago.
Topped up sitting on the floor for over 3 hours because a train had been cancelled.
  • Return to London - Preston is £116. Think I’ll give this a miss.
