Chris Benjamin suffered from a dislocated shoulder in Kent Spitfires’ Vitality Blast away match at Middlesex and medical advice from specialists suggests that he will be out for the remainder of this Summer.
Jas Singh has had surgery on his ankle injury and is sidelined for the rest of the season.
36-0 off 7 overs. One of our openers is on 26 off 28 whereas the other is on 4 off 17. I'll leave you to decide on the identities of those concerned from those stats.
So, our numbers 2 (Jaydn),3 (Ekansh) & 4 (Muyeye) have an average of barely over 20.
Jayden has done ok swing his age and has got a couple of 50’s. Muyeye has an average of 30 and this is Singh second game. All three should be in instead of leaning who has been worse than awful this season

I think there's clear intent from the Club here. There's obviously a resignation that we aren't going up and that the best thing to do is to blood the youngsters, in positions where they are exposed, rather than hide them down the order because that experience will stand them in good stead for next season.

Which is the right approach. There’s actually an argument it was always the right approach and we should have used this season to create a strong platform for next
I first saw Ekansh when he was 12/13 and later had a closer look at him when Seb played a few games with him at county age group level. His weakness at the moment is his strength overdone - he has so many shots that his selection can sometimes be awry whereas someone like Compton probably only has three or four but he knows exactly which ball to play them to. He's still an exciting prospect and not quite 19 too.
I see Ben Compton received his county cap today. Not before time. Grant Stewart has yet to receive his and he made hi debut on 25th September 2017. He'll be getting a benefit match before he gets a cap!
Compton is only our sixth cap in the current squad after Joe Denly, Billings, DBD, Crawley and Leaning. In 2018 we had a dozen.
