5-10 years ago that game gets played. It's a winter sport and this country gets rain. The players were passing it fine and even in the problem area of the centre circle, the ball was bouncing to waist height.
Ref a total shithouse and Crawley a tinpot operation. Fuck both of them3 -
barnsley 1-0 wrexham against the run of play.1

I know its only Nathan's word, but if the referee has called it off because of the forecast, rather than the conditions - Why wait so long then?5

Non league Woking are at home just 30 miles from Crawley and they have managed to play. Sometimes now in my opinion refs are just too keen to call games off.2

I was watching the rain radar on Wunderground.com this morning and it showed a front moving towards the south east. It had a very thin band of heavy rain on its leading edge, that is what caused the torrential rain. The rain behind it looks lighter but the damage had already been done by a few minutes of very heavy rain.

They knew the weather was going to be bad so why didn't they cover the pitch 😡
EFL need to take a good look at this……it stinks if you ask me!😡4 -
As others have said complete WOKE nonsense calling this off.11

And more heavy rain on the way apparently during the game. My only gripe is why it wasn’t called off earlier. This late decision is not good for the fans.

The evidence you asked for
I'm a bit old school. The images I saw showed the ball moving pretty well. Having seen us play away at West Brom in the cup, away at Yeovil, away at Chelsea, I'm firmly of the view that players adapt their game to conditions, including the pitch.
Ultimately its a judgement call on the part of the ref.

Will be interesting to see if the managers were in agreement or if one was one wasn't. Form we are in I'd expect us to have wanted to play.2

Reminds me of Southeastern cancelling services because there's a forecast of wind tomorrow, which may or may not cause problems.
Surely if it's playable now then you start playing? If it gets worse, becomes unplayable, or becomes evident that it is dangerous, then stop the game then?5 -

Isn’t the question whether or not it’s dangerous?8

Jones has also said to CAFC that the referee didnt want to start the game if it meant that it may not finish - Well at least the fans would get to see SOMETHING rather than a completely wasted trip.1 -
