As others have said complete WOKE nonsense calling this off.
explain how this is woke? does it just mean that you don't agree with it? Woke is political liberality and left wing attitudes regarding discrimination. Not generally used to describe a bit of bad weather.
You may be challenged on your description.

I think we all know what "woke" REALLY means by now.

And if you don't then I'm sure someone will be along to tell us - again! - soon enough .........

Wouldn't have happened in the 70s...

I know its only Nathan's word, but if the referee has called it off because of the forecast, rather than the conditions - Why wait so long then?
I don't know how you can call off a game because of what might happen.

Surely you start the match & then abandon it if needs be.

Any lifers remember Brighton away in the early 70's? Mick Kelly bullet header and players like Keith Peacock going through massive puddles and mud... Great football. Today though football is too pampered.

It’s pouring 50 minutes away from Crawley at the moment, right decision to postpone

What about my tenner for a  stream? Well I suppose I got a different one (on the pitch). Tuned in just as Terry said its off

Isn’t the question whether or not it’s dangerous?
Now, or at some point over the next two hours?

We found a cracking pub (Goffs Manor) and a superb lunch - walked in ground at exact time it was called off - very poor by Ref to leave it until then - I’m actually not that fussed, as watching football in these conditions is no fun at all
    Remember Yeovil?
Me and a mate still talk about that game when we used to go to Away Games

    Has legendary status that match
That open end behind the goal where we were standing, took the full brunt of the wind driven deluge. But we all sang on.

Except those who took refuge in the C.L I.T coach at half time 🙃

Hope you managed to get the hood up 👍🏻

Is it more woke calling it off or having a big cry after the decision is made? I’m confused….

Exactly. Important to use woke as often as possible irrelevant of whether it makes any sense. Guaranteed to start an argument 🙄
  • Is it still 0-0?

It's pouring in the Amazon too, no doubt.

Neither of which should make a difference on whether or not the pitch was safe to start the game.

Anyway, it is what it is.

Browny Just sad the ref should call it off now. Rain expected for another hour. The ball couldn't even roll a 15 yard pass it just stopped in its track.

For me with our midfield maestro's being what they are, it should be off. Last thing we war is any injuries from getting boots stuck in the mud.

I'd love there to be a game on, what with our current run, but it needs to be safe.

Such a shame for all those that have travelled in numbers and many probably won't make the inevitable evening kick off, if postponed.
Probably more chance of trench foot!

And if one of our players tore a cruciate ligament, because his boot got stuck in the pitch, and was out for the rest of the season, you'd all moan at the ref for not calling the game off.

As Airman says, it's the safety of the officials and players that are the defining metric, not whether the supporters have been put out.

Especially if you think how much insurance is being payed for some footballers, in case of injury.

You'd think our manager would agree then wouldn't you?

it doesn't appear you do. It may be a crap decision made too late but I question whether the reason was to prevent offending peoples sensibilities, because thats what they did, they offended a lot of peoples feelings.
  • Feel sorry for those that travelled as calling a game off that late is pathetic, and it's also disappointing as we're on a good run and we clearly wanted to play the game.

On the plus side though it should mean that we're fresh and ready to go on Saturday against a Reading side who will be playing their 5th game in 14 days.
  • Well I've opted for Stockport vs Birmingham as the replacement game to watch

Barnsley Wrexham for me. Recommend it.

What is the definition of dangerous anyway in this context? All subjective.
