I liked Edun. But yeah, Jones didn’t seem keen so that was that.

He’s a decent L1 player, same with players like Watson and REG. At his best Edun got a move to the Championship, he’s definitely better than L2, it’s not surprising he’s doing well for Posh.

Jones rightly wants better though. Edwards is better and has more potential, and Small can cover when he’s unavailable.

I imagine Edun and REG wanted more game time and were expensive to keep as occasional cover. Letting them go creates more of a pathway for Mitchell (when he’s back), Laqeretabua and Enslin, which will hopefully in time prove to be the right decision.

Is it just me or has the curse of former players not been so evident this year?

In saying this is I recognise Dobson nay still cone to haunt us in the most painful of ways 😱

I thought he was to weak and too slow and was pleased we got rid. If he is doing well for Posh, good for him but he was here long enough and hardly showed much for us.

He could never be described as slow.

I personally always thought he had something about him. I suspect if he came in now, he would do well in a confident team.

Yes he could. I was told when we signed him he was quick but he was often beaten for pace by opponents which was very disapointing.

Apart from May, CBT & Dobson, nobody showed much for us last season. He’s a good player at this level, but unfortunately for him, he played under Dean Holden & Michael Appleton in a defence with Thomas, Hector and (last seasons) Watson. He also had a porous midfield & CBT playing in front of him. As for him being too slow, that’s absurd.

I also thought he is quick but was impressed by his cameo at AFCW where he played CM and drove forward at pace. Fortunately banned for our next match.

I thought he was probably our 2nd fastest player at the start of last season. (Behind TC.) But in January we signed Small, who was faster, stronger, and played in the same position as him.

He had a few decent performances for us in midfield this season. And, after seeing his free kick on Saturday, maybe should have been taking more free kicks, corners etc.

Maybe he just lost his confidence at Charlton? And has gone into a poorly performing team, has made himself invaluable, and got his mojo back?

Was that more positioning and reading of the game rather than his pace? I thought he looked mobile such as when he got forward, he just wasn't very effective, whether it was a lack of skill, crossing ability, decision making.

Though definitely not quick compared to Small and TC.

Most of the time we played him in midfield which was never his position so not surprising he's doing well when played as left back

Look, I'm not saying he was slow but not quick enough for pace to be a positive factor in his game.
