When Rooney was sent off against Fulham, he kicked the corner flag clear out of the ground .
I refereed an under 12, match (as a Dad taking his turn) the following Sunday to have a kid do exactly what Rooney had done because I gave a goal kick instead of a corner.
Players should just think of the example they set to youngsters.

Proper woke nonsense from Hackett. Well said NJ.
Just nonsense. Not woke at all.

I must admit when I saw it I thought it was dangerous. That corner flag could have gone anywhere with so many people about. I understand the passion but he deserved a booking and a talking to.
  • That might not result in a fine or suspension but it could result in a letter to the club and to the player.

Yes, he deserved a booking but didn't get one. It is a bit pointless reflecting back on a booking that should have been awarded. A sending off, yes, but a booking!

Matete of the Nigels has been doing that as part of his goal celebration all season but not heard Hackett raise that.

Nice to hear that Mr. Hackett is still being as big of a twat as ever, after all these years.

Isn’t that the title of a Paul Simon track?

What makes you say that - examples please. Keith was one of the very best referees that I had the honour to run a line for.

No that's 50 ways to leave Keith Hackett.

Over thirty years ago now, can't remember specific examples, other than the usual tireless treating big clubs/certain teams differently - no consistency in decisions, obviously a bit of a narcissist, came across as arrogant. Could not believe when he got made Ref's 'supremo', and he's still banging on now. All about him.
