I like that team but I would be tempted to leave Coventry on the bench due to his card situation. We should have enough in hand to get 3 points without him this week, replace him with Berry or Anderson
Are we going to bench him for what, the next six or seven games, or whatever it is, until he’s not under threat of a two game suspension any longer? By then we could be well off the play offs.
No not at all I meant we should be ok without him tomorrow Orient we will need him. Just seems a risk if he gets a silly yellow like the ball hitting his hand or something when not necessary
Ok, got that. So he’s needed against say Stockport. Do we rest him for Barnsley? He’s got about seven games to go before the cut off, we can’t be affording to rest him for any. I get what you are saying but every game, including Exeter, is worth three points. Unless you can guarantee we will beat Exeter without him, and we can’t, then he plays. If/when he gets suspended we deal with it then.
I guess, if we rested him today, we could have him pick up a yellow late on against Orient.  That way he serves his ban against Barnsley and has a fresh slate (and a rest!) when we play Stockport.

I’m not sure it’s possible to manipulate things this much though and, really, we should just play our best team on all occasions and let the cards fall where they may.

I predict a 2-0 or 3-0 victory, which will be vital, as I can't see any of our fellow chasers losing this weekend.

Edit. Just notice, the O's travel to Bolton, so fingers crossed for a draw there.

Vital 3 points is a must today to keep us in touch with the teams above us we cannot afford to drop points against teams we should beat for the remainder of the season

3-0 and the bus keeps rolling

Remember that 2-0 win over them in 2011 as Nardiello for them had an absolute strop, as he felt his shot crossed the line at 0-0 and it wasnt given - Ended up getting sent off for his troubles because he wouldnt stop arguing with the Lino

I understand Exeter have sold over 1100 tickets which is excellent, they always have a good away following.

Some bold predictions on here. Are Exeter a poor side then? I thought they were decent having watched the Forest game, and seeing them win away after that.
Their keeper is tiny though, if it’s the one who played against Forest?

Need 80 points to be sure of play offs. That means 30 points from 15 games. Today has to be 3 of them. On fixture list games 44 and 45 are Wrexham and Wycombe so we need to be close to 80 by then. Its going to be tight. Surely though in L1 we should have been up for top 2 not scratching around for 5th and 6th.
  • Exeter keeper - Whitworth is on loan from Palace. He looks about 12.
Exeter picked up a fair few new players in Jan so they are a little optimistic there poor run is behind them. Before that they were conceding 3 or 4 within the first half on a few occasions. If we can get an early goal or two they may crumble.

If we can’t see off Exeter comfortably we don’t deserve to be in the play offs. Comfortable 2-0.

We will see the best versions of ourselves today…
5-1 They will concede two in the first half and fall apart the second. Mannion in goal nothing against the guy, but just think he is more prone to conceding one than Ash.
  • Due my dog’s injury and operation (he is home now, but in a crate), I have decided I won’t go today, so I can help my wife with his care - I will however be ‘in France’ and will watch online - will miss my match day routine of Royal Oak, Guinness, into Covered End to watch the match etc, but it’s the correct call I believe

I’m going for a 2-0 win for Charlton COYR
  • Looking at the table, we could really do with handing out some absolute thumping, to get our goal difference aligned with other top 6 clubs, starting today!
  • Hopefully a win, but I would like to see Miles starting, we need a striker in form if we are to get to the playoffs. Him and Godden for me, who I expect to be marked and closed down if Exeter have done their homework.

Sadly for me my grandson is going to see Fulham, his first professional game because his father has 2 corporate tickets, and his other grandfather  is a bloody palace fan!.

He is a keen footballer, and will have to take him to the Valley as soon as possible, He plays for a team every Saturday morning normally but half term there is a week off.

With Fulham and Palshit in the Prem and us in Div 3 I fear you have your work cut out, but best of luck !!!

Nah, we are on the up again, but winning is everything for young uns.

I first took my youngest daughter to football aged 10, her first season being our SCP record winning promotion season.

No home games / 14 away games - 13 wins, 1 draw, so she was Charltonised, but in a good way!!

The years since have mostly been cruel, apart from Wembley, but she still wears her CAFC shirts in Manchester with pride.

NJ might just be the one to fiddle with the minds of young ones, we live in hope.

    2-0 today.

2 - 1 unconvincing but late winner keeps us in the hunt.

We'll have to agree, but not given up hope yet!. Took him down to the Valley on the fun day, and bought him and his little sister Charlton kits, but he likes Champions league!. Not sure kids go to local schools and clubs these days with there parents, unlike myself Sherrington and Charlton, even in my days it was West Ham, and the Wall. Hopefully, if we go on a run  it will spark a  interest.
  • Must win game. Won’t be easy 1 - 0

Stayed in a hotel last night and the Harrogate team were staying there - youngest daughter wants us to go to Bromley v Harrogate as she's now got a little crush on a couple of the Harrogate players.

She's not impressed that I'm less keen on that idea!

Ref has done 2 L1 games this season and given 13 yellows. Good luck to Coventry avoiding a booking
