Train £30, ticket £30, 3 pints £23, food £10....thats the bare minimum for being out of the house on my own for 7 hours. Double it if my Mrs comes and add another £50 if the boy attends.

£100-£250 spent without even trying and people wonder why attendances are lower than previously.
Yes it's expensive, but the food and drink element is optional, you could always bring sandwiches etc. And if you had gone somewhere else, you'd still be eating and drinking.
Tbh that would include bringing god knows how much snacks and food for the 6 year old. There's only so much you can carry when you leave home at 10am and return at 7pm.

That was also a very frugle potential spend, 3 drinks and some food over 9 hours is hardly going mental. I still attend when I can, just pointing out why it's less than previously and it's probably the same for many others.

We’ve seen photos of your 6 year old son.
I find it impossible  to believe that you are unable to carry enough food for him. Sorry.
Not quite sure what you mean as you've literally responded to a post where I've said the spend money includes bringing food for him.

It's a expensive day out for a family, not quite sure why some people are trying to argue against that just because i might not want to carry 3 peoples meals around for 9 hours .

    Apologies if I’ve misunderstood.

No its a fair point you make, you can save £30 by bringing snacks and sandwiches, or save a bigger lump by not going at all, which is what some of us have done. Most of that is out of the clubs hands, but its just how post covid life is for many.

You have answered your own question. The product has been predictably shite, the set up consistantly shite. If Charlton was El Dorado, the soap opera would of been cancelled after one season.

I believe the damage done to our supporter base over this last 10 years is on a par with the decline we had up to leaving The Valley. We need another fairy tale* and I don't think they are that common.
    * don't really need another fairy tale to get good attendances.

Were are getting back to our post Covid Attendances at the moment.

What makes it interesting if you look back to the 2010s (when we first came down to League One.
We are not at the levels of (16-19, which would be a present day midweek game), but closer to the 15,582 we got in our 2nd season down here).

A fairy tale (from a attendance perspective) would be the Valley getting sold out on a week by week basis. (this won't happen without Premier League/European football*). Surely though the club is moving in a positive direction.

*- Highest was 04/05 season (7), followed by the relegation season (4).
