At no point in my football snobbery life will I accept any fixture in this shithouse league is a real ‘big’ game , it’s a minge of a division where some are getting a hard on cos we’re playing Orient in a 6th v 7th third tier match , I’ll need a double down of viagra to raise one for this fixture. load of guff understandable if you’re young and all you’ve known is the utter junk of third tier crap and the intermittent flirting in the second tier . previous to your young lives millwall were 95% of the time the mingiest club in south London with us and palace battling it out to be top dog . We’re so far away from palace now if we were a dog we’d be put down .
Saying all that I’ve been to more away games this season than many a year but that’s doing my bit for family peace . Anything less than promotion is failure, so a draw at least required tomorrow but come on ffs Orient have half our budget and we’re on an even par with them coming in to this game , utter fucking guff .
No point in asking you to grab me a half & half scarf from the Orient club shop then…🤷♂️
A tough game but let's hope that Orient's reserves of stamina have been drained during in the last week, particularly going down to 10 men after 10 minutes on Tuesday. They are also contending with a lot of injuries, especially in central defence, plus their impressive left-back is suspended. In contrast, we have a clean bill of health and have to hope that our key players stay fit for the last 14 games (plus, hopefully, three more).
I'd be well pleased with a draw tomorrow and four points next week. In one sense, the Orient and Stockport fixtures are 'must not lose' games, although we have pace and creativity if we can get Campbell and Small involved and a win in either game would be a huge boost, so I expect us to have a real go.
I think we might nick it. My cousin writes the fanzine for the O’s and family ties dictate that I want to see them do well on the whole. They’ve had a great season and have been on a great run. They do have injuries as you point out Blucher. They had one fit CB which is why they came in for REG
When I messaged my cousin discussing the game, we both agreed it’s not one you want to lose, and personally I would take a draw. I think defeat would be worst for them, as it would be 3 defeats on the bounce
just got a feeling we might do it
That’s great @cabbles - is Orient’s fanzine still called ‘The Orienteer’ ? An old friend of mine, Simon Hicks, used to do some articles for it many years ago but he moved up north and has been exiled in Yorkshire for over 25 years now. Someone, I think @ElfsborgAddick, mentioned the excellent old supporters bar they had under a stand and we always used to get in there for a couple of pints and a chat post-match. Full of very nice people. Orient is a club I have a lot of time for, although hopefully we can let the air out of their tyres this afternoon.
Harsh on Anderson but I think you have to play your captain in a game like this. Anderson has looked good coming on as a sub during our upturn in form, so he can still have a big impact on the game.
I didn’t see Anderson play last week but he is a player I I’ve always liked anyway. However, to me he is a work in progress that needs refining and not someone I’d start in this game, particularly if Pratley starts as well, because my guess is he’d get targeted to be sent off with a couple of bookings. Bring him on from the bench.
I agree - I think Anderson’s energy levels could be very important in the second half, as could the introduction of Leaburn if he starts on the bench (I doubt that Reg will be pleased to see him).
It will be good to see Pratters treading the boards (assuming he starts), although I’m still scarred by his utter domination of our flimsy midfield on Boxing Day 2023. He may have had to do the full game on Tuesday in a 10-man team but, as the Orient journalist said on Charlton Life, Darren Pratley is still probably the fittest player at the club. What a pro.
My sons have been getting grief from all the Essex /east London bellends they go to school with, 90% of em don’t even support the O’s and they’re their second club cos they can’t get tickets for Arsenal /tottenham and go to plenty of Orient games . So this means something to the kids . i know plenty of old Orient fans from our cricket club and im going round the chairman’s house after some indoor cricket this morning near Leytonstone . We only really play them when we’re in bad times …. please let this 3rd tier bullshit end
Counted 55 English football grounds i've been to but never been to Brisbane road which is strange really considering how close they are - probably coz they are rarely in our division when we are on a promotion season and i'm a glory boy when it comes to away games nowadays. Wished i was going today - i get what people are saying about its only another 3 points and its only league 1 etc but i feel like a win could be a pivotal and galvanising moment when the players, gaffer and fans really get 'on the journey' together and the 'run in' ramps up - go over there and put in a performance lads, this game could light the fuse. COYR!!!!!!!

Turn of phrase is always so funny, but underneath that there’s a very good point here. They’re on an even keel with us with an excellent loan in Donley and a 40 year old we ‘didn’t want’ in midfield,

His is called Pandamonium
been going since the early/mid 90s
I remember him mentioning the Orienteer, as it was definitely around at the same time, I have no idea if it is still going.
like you, I’ve always had time for them based on family connections, and they got absolutely dicked over with West Ham’s move to the Olympic stadium and the state aid West Ham got to go with it (@pragueaddick knows all about that), and then the farce with that Italian that took them over and dragged them down into the national league.
I know from speaking with him, had they not got out the national league at the second attempt, they would’ve likely gone under
Feeling positive too. Wellens clearly doing an incredible job but injuries and suspensions will catch up with them, as well as playing Brum with 10 men for so long

If we get at them I also think the could get another red card ! Tiredness does weird things
A point will be fine as we are level on points with a game in hand. I have a gut feeling we will win 2-1 at Orient but it may just be my Diverticulitis 🙄
1) the ref said he made a mistake and it wasn't a red card 2) the ref admits he missed the foul on Sweens for the first game 3) due to the ref not being a member of the pgmol or whatever its called it can't be overturned

I think a lot football supporters have a soft sport for the Orient - they’re close to the two North London giants and who would ever want the odious Karren Brady and David Sullivan as near neighbours. I went along to the LDDC’s unsuccessful appeal to the Information Tribunal where Prague was treading the boards and LDDC were ordered to disclose the terms of the scandalous financial deal with West Ham. As you say, to compound matters, that Italian fruitcake nearly did for the club.
Kieran Maguire said on The Price of Football that Orient are in preliminary takeover talks. The owner has done a great job in helping the club rise up from the National League but I imagine he needs some help financially, given the basket case economics of football.
Good luck to all who got tickets. Hope we can win. Orient mate told me that they need a takeover to go up as they can't afford the Championship and will come back down like a stone without investment. Hopefully we can make that a moot point today by getting all three.
