Anyone else at The Valley in mid 80s when we went 0-3,down and won 5-3? I was a student and had friends from Barnsley in the away end. Could see them jumping up and down when they scored then it all turned round and got even better when their striker got sent off. Nearly all the goals in front of the Covered End?
Never beat the 7-6 game, fantastic and unbelievable. One of the genuine fans that was there

Only found out recently that Bill Shankly was their manager. Afterwards he lambasted everyone who played and also the injured players, including Denis Law, for being injured.

Yes, was at that one with about 4,000 others scattered around the terraces. One of those daft games that seem to happen every so often at Charlton.

Also there, up on our usual spot on the East Terrace. Futcher got a hat-trick and then helpfully got himself sent off.

I was there. Not the first time I’d seen us come back from 3-0 down and not the last time either though definitely the first I can recall us coming back from 3-0 down and winning. Off hand, I can’t recall whether we’ve repeated winning from that position since.
2nd March 1985 the 5-3 was , I was there nearly 15 years old , just over 6 months later and we were playing the ‘last’ game at The Valley before our nomadic period
I think I'll go to spoons again and spent some time with my palace mate, he says he's my lucky charm. It worked on Saturday, he turned up and we scored 2 within less than 8 minutes of his arrival.
Will be interesting how he sets up the team tonight, i think we suffered a little bit at Birmingham keeping the same 11 for 3 big games on the spin. Would take a draw tonight if we can win Saturday.
The Nervous Nerys in me thinks we are going to slip up in one of these home games, and this one seems the most likely. They’ve won 3 in a row, including 2 aways, and scored in every away game for over 3 months. From a neutral pov I think 16/5 seems quite generous.

I think 16-4 is more likely, can’t see us conceding five.
Barnsley have the third best away record in the division I believe, and we have the fifth best home record. Our goal difference at home is plus 13, their goal difference away is plus 4.
I hope you've had a chance to see the added time on YouTube? Everything Gilbert did was excellent and not only the two pin point corners. Wonderful outside of the foot pass for Small to run on to and win the 1st corner, a block from the dangerous Brown on the edge of our area. Getting stuck into Pratley; good first touch and pass to Ramsey; a lovely header for Small to again ran on and get another corner for the winner, plus the icing on the Charlton cake with the assists from the Arc.
The great unknown for the fans is his stamina. It's Nathan Jones call with the help of the Analyst when Gilbert joins the action plus of course on the fitness levels of Berry.
The 10 minutes from the start of the Video which was the added time to the celebration at the end will be my favourite for quite some time as it's the first time the unity in the whole squad and coaches was there for all to see.
