We've got a manager who has proven over the past few months that he is really, really good at judging how to see out games. In our last 5 games we have conceded one goal, and that was a bit of a wonder strike. Hylton came on instead of Kanu because we didn't need to chase down and press their defenders on the ball, we needed to make it so they didn't have a chance to do anything with the ball at all. We were a bit leggy, we sent long balls up for Godden and Hylton to try and get their heads on, we ran into the corner to waste time and our two experienced strikers shithoused, slowed the game down with free kicks and were just generally irritating for the last ten minutes. Crawley didn't come close to building up a head of steam and things felt calmer in the last ten than they did in the ten before that. Hylton isn't going to come on and devastate tiring defences but he is going to protect our tired team late on from the opposition building momentum and getting closer to forcing a goal. If Jones brings him on it's because he recognises the difference between the time for a young energetic striker and a ruiner, and last night called for the ruiner. We always talk about how we wish our club was a bit cannier, a bit nastier and a bit wiser to the kind of tricks Blackpool pulled at the start of the season but we don't seem to like it much when it arrives.6

With his energy and other strengths I can see Anderson comfortably playing in this division and hopefully at least the Championship if he can find consistency.
By his age I think he’d need to have shown more technical ability to play at a top club, but I can see why some see Prem potential in him. He’s got a great engine, is mobile and decent in the air, and it’s not a stretch that he could add more strength to that. If he does then physically he’ll have a bit of everything.Combine that with consistency to tidy up the technical side and his decision making, reading of the game, positioning etc which comes with experience he could become a really reliable player.
Playing deeper definitely suits him better, and if that’s alongside a player like Coventry he’ll still have freedom to play more box to box, breaking forward or joining a high press, which should get the best out of him.
I don’t think Docherty has completely nailed down that box to box role, and if we get promoted then that only becomes an even bigger question. This run in could be a great opportunity for Anderson to step up before the summer when signings start coming in.
He’s definitely more consistent than Anderson, but he’s not performed to the level of Ramsay, Coventry and Jones, who will generally always be picked if fit.0 -

To the tune of Sweet Chariot...
Aim high sweet Charlton boys
Nathan said to stay at home
Aim high sweet Charlton boys
Natham said to stay at home
I looked over Bluewater and what did I see
No Costa coffee or waffles is the plea
A band of angels coming after thee
Coming for to set thee free
Aim high sweet Charlton boys
Nathan said to stay at home
Aim high sweet Charlton boys
Nathan said to stay at home
If you get there before I do
Coming for to carry thee home
Tell all my friends I'm coming too
Coming for another win at home0 -

My missus said go, go, go
He's dressed in black

Might be an employemnt opportunity for fans. Seeing as fans will recognise the players, the club could pay them to patrol local shopping centres and coffee establishments. Maybe not.2

I got taken to Bluewater in 1999, or more acurrately dragged, by the the Mrs and our young children. I am allergic to shopping anyway, but it was a sacrifice I was prepared to make for the sake of family cohesion and a sense of duty. I can still remember the horror now, it was also my last visit. I should imagine the intervening 25 years have not made the experience more palatable for this officinaphobic.

Couldn't the fans organise and pay fans to accompany the wives shopping so they won't feel lonely and will have someone to carry the shopping.0
