  • 4 keepers? Some strange selections there

Well hopefully we’ve got a chance of winning, with  that amount of players on the pitch.
  • What a ridiculous squad

Im going to the Albania game should be a fun night

Yes, us three as well. Could be some interesting reactions from the crowd on the line-up and subs.

Is Gallagher injured? Would have thought he'd be a definite for a midfield spot.
Played midweek but hasn't been starting every game for Atleti. Would still have expected him to be called up though
That hasn't stopped Rashford being included. He's started four games in the last three months and has four goals in the PL this season. Equally, Quansah has started two games in the PL all season! Surely Branthwaite should be in front of him?
Quansah can cover on the right, think that's why he's in over Branthwaite given James's injury issues.
I see that but so can Walker and Livramento
Livramento will probably be playing/covering LWB and Walker is unreliable these days. Think the player in ahead of Branthwaite is actually Dan Burn, that would be a like for like swap
Konsah plays on the right too.  I'd understand Tuchel's logic a bit more of it weren't for the fact that Qansah has played little more than an hour's football at the top level in the last month. He's started 15 lifetime PL matches and Klopp dropped him last season after the first match because he looked so exposed. Now if Qansah were Booby Moore I'd get his inclusion in front of Branthwaite but he's not.
  • And thus begins a bonkers new era for the England team
  • Did Tuchel not see that ball Gibbs-White played for Hudson-Odio at the weekend?

This is like the worst of the Southgate squads.

Taking my boys to it for their first Wembley and England experience. Would be a shame for there to be booing of home players and me having to explain why with Henderson!
  • Sorry, is that actual Jordan Henderson? 2018's Jordan Henderson?? Jesus Christ. It's funny though, people used to go on and on about how Southgate had his favourites and Henderson shouldn't get in. Southgate dropped him and then the first squad the new manager has and Henderson is back. I can only assume every other central midfielder is dead and I mourn their passing.

  • Is it just me? Am I out of touch? Does anyone know the forenames of the entire squad?
  • How the hell is Jordan Henderson in ahead of Gibbs-White or Angel Gomes????
  • In the context of the 2 games it doesn't matter so much as we will beat Albania and Latvia anyway.

But in the context of building a team for the 2026 World Cup it's crazy to select Walker and Henderson who will both be 36 at the time it takes place. Hardly progressive selections are they, especially when we have the likes of Spence and Wharton who could've been picked instead.

No idea how Gibbs-White hasn't been selected either, he's been playing well all season for the team who are third. Quansah over Branthwaite is a strange one as well, as Quansah has hardly played.

Was surprised at Solanke as well but Watkins went off at half time in midweek so i assume he's injured.
  • On the upside, the u21s look strong!  Think a few like Wharton, Branthwaite and Delap can count themselves a bit unlucky not to be in the senior squad.

Nice to see a couple of League One and League Two players in there.

Apparently he has a 50 man squad as well and i was told a few weeks ago that James Beadle is in that. Don't know how it works or what the point of that is but maybe they are standby players in case of injuries?

Only two, who are on loan from Chelsea and Stoke.
  • Maybe we should just not bother to qualify and avoid the future inevitable disappointment.

Give Germany the best possible chance.

  • Dreadful first squad. Feels like a step backwards
  • Henderson WTF!
  • Lewis-Skelly is clearly a great prospect, but it feels way too early to be calling him into senior squads, when he's only 18 and only started playing LB this season really. His rawness has been shown by the cards he's picked up.
  • FFS... Southgate's picking his mates again!!
  • I thought Henderson had retired (not from internationals, but completely).  Amazed to see him back.
  • Has he been made captain?

I can't see that formation working
It would be hard to score against, unless the four keepers get in each other's way.  However, you have to ask where are the subs if someone gets injured?

You missed the little Angry Man, Jay Stansfield…although Birmingham won’t be L1 for long and costing £15m would normally cover most transfers for the rest of L1 together.
  • I'm hoping Hendo and Walker are there to just be in the background to keep an experienced link to the Southgate culture he created for the England environment.
  • Rashford, Rogers no Watkins 🤔

Thought he (Watkins) was decent enough and has been playing well to deserve a call up.

Maybe it was that offside in the Rogers disallowed goal 😕
