Well, I think we can file that under "no drama, no faffing".

We never looked in any trouble but caused plenty to Wigan.

TC has had the better of both full backs, Godden's movement and anticipation up front has been wonderful, Small's been good down the left this week, and the defence had been untroubled.

It's been a long, long, long, LONG time since we've been this comfortable in a league game ... and long may it continue!

I’m so happy we didn’t sign Owen Dale. What a truly awful footballer he is

Explains why Wigan are struggling if they're playing Wycombe too

Utterly dominant.  Need to get a hatful here to get our goal difference sorted.  Best ref I’ve seen in this division since, well, ever I think.
Am relieved with the Referee, was worried at the start that he'd be very pedantic and we'd see a very stop / start match - Instead the players have responded well to his early calls, which has allowed the game to really flow.

Godden now with a better goals per game ratio than a certain striker whose name rhymes with pay
Well of course... Amdy Faye was a Midfielder 🙄🙄
You two will upset a few people with your derision of the man who was essential to our season.

The only goal difference that’s problematic here is Wycombe’s.

Think the Huddersfield score - given that their goal difference is equal to ours and they are five points back - is being massively overblown so some people can give themselves something to worry about.

Wigan don’t look like they can be bothered !!!

Hey ho - don’t bother me - utterly all over them - let’s shovel a load more goals in 2nd half, to improve our goal ratio 👊

Absolutely brilliant first half of football. So dominant and in total control. Would love to get one more then make some changes particularly Coventry off ! He has done remarkably to get through these games without another yellow card and he is so important for us he just breaks up play and keeps us ticking over. Also would love to see Eslin

Jokes aside am relieved we've got a two goal cushion, and agree a 3-0 score would avoid the dreaded Desmond - The cushion, just gives us a bit of comfort; Ryan Lowe will have had 45mins to assess his team, will have had 45mins to assess us, and am sure Wigan will come out in the second half a different team... They have to!!
Lowe not in charge today. Thought we were excellent that half, close to best 45 of the season. 4-0 wouldn't flatter us. Table looks good at the moment, hope it's still the same come 5pm.

    Interesting re: the ref.
At the start, he seemed overly fussy and I thought he might ruin the game, but it’s been better since then.
The thing is, I suspect one of the reasons he’s seemed better is because, as we’ve become so dominant, most of the fouls have gone our way.
I wonder if Wigan fans think he’s been good? (Not that I care 😂)

To be fair he is a winger that has been playing in his own half all game. Not many wingers would look good in the same situation. The one time he’s had the ball in an advanced position he put a very good ball in.

Really starting to remind me of the 2018/19 run in now. We’re not as exciting to watch but I remember that season, especially at home, we’d just smother teams and every time we lost the ball we’d win it back very quickly and just overwhelm them eventually. In particular we did it to Luton who were too at the time - that was the game that made me strongly believe we’d go up.

Was a bit worried today with the changes we’ve had to make and looking a touch leggy midweek but that was a dominant a first half as you could wish to see, save for maybe a goal or two more.

Perfect second half - early goal or two to kill it then rest a couple like TC and Coventry (and protect him from that killer yellow card) and a late goal from Ahadme to really put the icing on the cake and boost the goal difference.

So one-sided. We've got all the skill and all the energy. All Wigan have got is a handful or rugby tactics, but thankfully the ref has been on top of that.  I trust Nathan and the boys not to get complacent,  but I am. It's three points in the bag already, surely.
  • Wow, that was pretty sensational. 45 minutes of great attacking football and total dominance.

What a change in our football from the opening game at Wigan - dour, hoofball stiff - to this free flowing football. Honestly don't ever seen a change like it over the course of one season.

Hope we carry on playing like this rather than sitting back as we can do our goal difference a power of good if we do.

It's been the sort of game where you start wondering when Coventry can be subbed to protect him from the 2 game ban ...

Good (well much better) crowd, suns been out, and dominant first half. All to feel positive about.

Yeah, actually, for a change, the ref has been very good. Not overly fussy so the game has flowed but not allowing it to be too physical. Got his one booking right too.
