Basically, yes. Not just because of the stands being closed but the whole approach to cup games sends out a powerful message to fans (and probably the players as well) that the club doesn’t give a shit about them. I still go to the cup games but it pisses me off when there is just the one catering outlet, sometimes two of we are lucky. On a freezing cold December (or January this season) something to eat (even if you are not hungry) and a drink makes all the difference.TellyTubby said:

Bang on there's about 12 of us friends and family who have had season tickets last few years on and off not including myself and bro who have had one for about 7 seasons now in a row and only 2 of those 12 have renewed soo far.
It was a kick In the teeth one day after the final tbh I would have renewed very soon after but had a hangover then see the jump and thought how cheeky couldn't even give it a week or so at better price.have mentioned before it's ok for some but I usually get my dad's ticket too and it all adds up in the end,getting emails to renew season ticket even before the current season had even ended and we are all forking out for play off matches,shirts and a wemberly trip.
Then small gets let go, if our billionaire owners maybe got 2 or 3 in the door or put there hands in their pockets proper I will have some belief we won't get pumped every week with a team that has maybe 4-5 at best possible championship players.will probably be suckered in though and renew 30 mins before first game of season as usual

I was at the Halifax Tuesday night game at The Valley with just 3k there for a league game, no closed stands then either.
If the football, price and competition is attractive, people will want to attend.1 -
I was going to buy 3 season tickets for me and family but living in Dorset it would only be for Saturday games as very poor late evening train service, so no point, just buy tickets per match3

I've had one since the early 70's, initially to save money over the year as I went to almost all games, but also to save the agro of queuing up to pay cash at the turnstile, I could just walk straight in and not miss the start, as now, most turned up at the last minute.
Once the valley became all seater, and having picked my seat, it was mine "for ever" or until I die. So my season ticket has also guaranteed the seat that I want, and I still don't have to queue up in the big long queue on match day to get a seat that's not my first choice. I don't have to get online, choose a seat (maybe one I don't want), pay for it and print it every game. I just walk straight in.
Over the years, I've gradually got to know those that sit around me, they're the same every game, we only discuss Charlton and other football matters, but they're "like minded". At the end of the game, I say "bye, sorry must rush, train to catch". I wouldn't have this if I bought a ticket for each game separately.
One other thing, all the moaning about season ticket prices going up. If you'd bought a ticket when they were first offered, and from what I can see the zone 2 ones (the ones being mainly moaned about) were available for £485 and as your saying they're now £550 and that's a price increase of £90 so they must have been £460 last year, so your price increase would have been only £25. (£485 - £460)
Or until the club wants to cash in on another team's promotion or experiment with moving away fans.0 -
