    As I said in a previous post about this, our ground has the capacity for fans to pick and choose, 6,000 empty seats each game (minimum) - 6/7 3pm Saturday k/o, rest - who knows

    Personally, I’m disappointed with the take up so far and I suspect the club are as well. I suspect @bobmunro we wasn’t 25% up two weeks after being promoted, I reckon the bulk of the increase would have been already in pre-Wembley. If so, the uptake since I think is low and emphasises the point the post-Wembley pricing and strategy really hasn’t capitalised on the feel good momentum of a good season, Wembley and promotion,

    For comparison, Coventry last announced ST figure was 17.5k, Portsmouth cap at 15k, Watford had 12.5k renewals at end-Apr and they want their owners out, Preston after a number of nothing seasons are over 11k etc. None of those are Champ big boys, I’m just using as a comparative 

    appreciate this sounds a bit negative, just a bit frustrated there hasn’t been more pick up or a better approach to delivering more pick up. AC Stand sales are particularly low for example. 
    I agree - we’ve been here a few times over the last decade or so - there is nothing to moan about so dig in your pockets people, stop quibbling about whether u can save this or that and give the new owners the encouragement to open their wallets by opening yours - if not, please don’t come on here moaning about things -literally, put up or shut up 
    This another of your posts that definitely are not moaning/digging at other fans?

    ... and in a city with more than 2 footballing destinations.

    Going over old ground a bit here but unless you really want certain seats and you can’t commit to every game then it’s still cheaper albeit more hassle to buy on the day if you sit in the more expensive seats 
    I have sat in the same seats in the AC since 1994 many years as a STH but to be with family as that is what I choose to do at a cost  
    This season I would genuinely commit to a season ticket to support the club despite probably missing the midweekers with a die hard 10 year old but what’s so frustrating is when I can literally sit 2 metres away from e block you would save £160 - block E £695 Block D £550 - did anyone care when the whole ground backed us in the play offs ?

    Bonkers absolutely bonkers 

    What this club needs is fresh ideas to properly fill the ground not rely on the covered end to fill it all the time 

    No seat in our stadium should cost more than £500 anywhere

    FOMO effect. Have a low cap on the number that can be sold, or sell a critical number if the cap is higher, and the rest sell themselves. Though if you kill the feelgood factor of a Wembley win and promotion by immediately raising prices it seems to put a bit of a dampener on things.

    I think quite a few on here posted that earlier in the thread.

    My group is one less for this season as the jump up from student to adult for them is too lumpy. Looking at my section on the map, don’t think any new STs have been sold in our block.

    I’ve decided not to buy because of the price . I generally miss a few games due to work or health issues and at those prices it’s not economically viable . A hundred pound cheaper then I would have probably bought three season tickets for me and my sons . I’ll buy tickets as and when I need them now .

    It really is a terrible own goal by the club. Proper supporters who renewed early will have to take the hit of this astronomical price rise next season and moving forward. 

    A lot of good things happening at the club, so a shame to see a retrograde step. Only 10k sold is really poor imo.

    They can only have a cap because they've got decent support and a fairly small stadium.

    If we had a 20k stadium and capped ST sales at 15k, then i'm confident we'd sell out even at the current prices. But as it stands fans know that there will probably be around 12k match day tickets for sale, so there's no need.

    I fall into this category Callum, I haven’t had a season ticket since my boycotting days when Roland was around. I was tempted to rebuy for this season but looking at the prices and the amount of weird KO times we will have I have decided to pay on a match by match basis as I simply won’t be able to make all the games

    I forgot to add that my daughter, son in law and one of my grandsons were considering a season ticket if we got promoted but were put off by the increase

    Interestingly they have a season ticket waiting list of 3000 fans. 

    Only the first 300 of that waiting list were able to purchase a season ticket for next season.

    I was thinking about it since Wembley for me and either one or both of my kids, but the price rise has made me pause, for now.

    Mate who attended about 8 games last season with his Son (14 years old) as part of a larger group was saying on way home from Wembley that he would get him & Son season tickets, but didnt after after realising:

    1 - price increase to bring it up to £715 'ish fopr both him and his Son
    2 - how many games were likely to be moved from 3pm Saturday to other KO times.

    Also, relevant was that the part of the ground he sits in (West Upper) isnt busy so he can get tickets on a match by match basis pretty easily.

    Me. Offended by the price rise being so sudden and the stupidity of that. I needed a few days to adjust and had positive intention but that move made the decision for me.

    TalkSPORT talking about ticket price increases against a background of more TV games and the prospect of late notice changes to when the game is played. Charlton’s CEO also in the card for today’s White & Jordan programme so maybe he’ll he asked about this as well

    Why would anyone buy now when they can wait a month with the money sat in their own account.  Even if they were really excited by the game at Wembley, is holding a credit card sized piece of plastic five or six weeks earlier really that important if it is no cheaper now than just before the start of the season.  The numbers buying tickets may rise a little nearer the start of the season and may go up if we make decent signings between now and then.

    Realistically you’d have to be pretty foolish to not think the price hike was not counter productive, i think everyone recognises this except our foul mouthed friend

    This is basically me- I moved to SE London just after the season started last year and my other half convinced me to buy curtains for the flat (same cost as a season ticket) instead, as we needed them more. 

    I’m a ‘lapsed’ ST holder (had one up until I was 18) then was too far to go from Uni and then I couldn’t afford it as an adult until now really. 

    I was always going to get a ST for next year, (even in League One) so kicking myself for not buying earlier at the lower price, but also it didn’t make financial sense when I was also spending money on the club for playoff tickets / Wembley etc .. at the same time! 

    I would have definitely bought in a post Wembley window of the same prices but now I might as well wait until the day before the season starts and let that £550 grow in my S&S ISA etc for 2 months as there is no incentive not too. 

    I think it was a poor move but I’m still going to buy a ST regardless, as I do want to put my money where my mouth is this season and I don’t begrudge giving the club more money to support but it did just feel all a bit sneaky and pre meditated with no warning and has most likely cost them more money then it makes. Two ST sold at £400 is better than one at £700 etc..
