What's the rule re:  reducing how many tickets we offer away fans? If Reading aren't involved, we will be only club offering a 3k plus away allocation, right behind the goal which naturally helps the away team.

Can we reduce and mirror what we will be allocated in the reverse fixture?
This reddit post from last years play offs offers some insight, but nothing conclusive:https://www.reddit.com/r/LeagueOne/comments/1ch23mp/away_ticket_max_at_l1_stadiums/

I suspect there are a variety of factors
    - How many home fans will buy tickets (ala Doncaster, offer 3k, if they don't sell out, segregate the JS)
    - Policing
    - min rules from EFL (10% of capacity is a number I have seen quotred, so we would need to offer 2.7k initially in this case)
The rules now specify 2,000 minimum or 10% of capacity if lower, so 2,700 isn’t relevant.
thanks for clarifying.  I could not find this info on the EFL site.

35.7 Facilities for visiting supporters 35.7.1

Each Club must make provision for at least 2,000 visiting supporters at every home match or such number as represents 10% of the Club’s certified capacity, if less than 2,000. The League may, on the prior written application of a Club, suspend this Regulation or reduce the figure either for a particular League Match or for a period of time. Each Club shall, subject to any dispensations granted by the Board, make provision for at least 200 of the visiting supporters (of which not less than 100 must be seats) to be accommodated under cover. Any Club which fails to meet the requirement of 200 visiting supporters being accommodated under cover and which does not have a dispensation granted by the Board shall have such amounts as the Board shall determine (in its absolute discretion) withheld from that Club’s central distributions from the Pool Account until such time as the Club can meet the requirement.

  • I don’t have a season ticket and think it’s quite right that I wait my turn. I’m pretty confident I’ll get the tickets I want.
The only issue for me is how many tickets season ticket holders can buy. If I did miss out on a Wembley final I’d be fairly pissed off reading account of people taking their mates who support other clubs.
  • The away ticket sales will be more of an issue if we finish 3rd or 4th, and have the away leg on the Saturday. The club presumably won't get the tickets from Wycombe or Stockport until Monday, giving little time to send tickets out.
  • If we get Orient, Stockport or Wycombe we should give them half of the West Upper. Given the allocation that we would get from them for the away games, have Charlton kicking towards our fans in both half's

Guess that depends if the West Upper can be cut cleanly into a 2,000 segregated area. Didn't go to the Brighton game so no idea how that worked or if they got the whole Upper or if its even possible, gut feeling says it isn't so we'll probably see a similar situation to the Doncaster game i'd expect.

the home fans with cars in the car park will be happy to know they could have hundreds of drunk young away fans milling around their cars.
The people wanting a drink in Bartram`s will be pleased let alone those wanting to use the turnstiles for the lower west south.

We can't finish 3rd so we wont be playing Orient (or Reading).

We can only finish 4th or 5th & will be playing either Stockport or Wycombe.

Technically and mathematically we can finish third but it's very unlikely.

It is possibe to get 3rd, it is just unlikely (+6 goal difference swing + draw in Wycombe + Stockport).

Oh no, what a huge sacrifice that is when trying to give our side every chance of getting to Wembley and promotion from this hell hole of a divison! How will they cope without their £7 pint of Grolsch!?

You also realise that crowds of people including away fans pass through the west stand car park at every home game?

It's extremely unlikely, but it's not the sort of freak result which can be completely ignored for planning purposes, especially if Burton are safe by getting a result midweek, and on the beach next weekend.

Not the same situation as they were going for automatic, and were playing a very poor Scunthorpe side, but 3 years ago Bristol Rovers clinched promotion ahead of Northampton by winning 7-0 on the final day of the season.

As above, you cannot have 2,000 away fans in the upper west and also use it for home fans.

Would getting a Valley Gold membership right now aid this?
If you sign up and pay for 6 months Valley Gold up front (and therefore eligible for priority purchases), yes.
    That is inherently unfair.
    It’s only £60
You won’t mind paying mine then 😂

Seriously though why should someone be able to stump up £60 up front just to get themselves ticketing priority? Personally I’d say you had to be a member for a full year before you get such an entitlement.
How would that work ? the membership is only valid for 1 year at a time... so the day youd be entitled to tickets your membership would run out 😝.

    Don’t split hairs.

Priority tickets should be based on your back history not a future promise.

In the past, there were requirements to show ticket stubs to prove how many matches you’d been to.

Then again,  this is 2025. He who pays more, gets more. Everything counts in large amounts.
Nothing to do with 2025, its been that way for years. You also have to have paid 6 months before your entitled to a discount so your suggestions are already in place.

As usual though, these issues only ever come up if weve had a good season or a FA cup run.

If the current 4 in the playoffs off places remains the same, I think its safe to say we would take the most to Wembley. At most Wycombe/Orient/Stockport might take 25k. We could get an even bigger allocation than the 38k we had last time which was limited by the fact we were playing another big club.
Agreed. If we get to Wembley we will win IMO. Massive advantage over the other, let's face it, smaller clubs.

And only if Stockport & Wycombe draw 0-0 due to goals scored. The more they score the more we need to as well. A 2-2 draw means we need to win by 8 clear goals.

Call me old fashioned but that's not happening even if Burton went down to 9 players.

So let's take the hypotheticals out of this shall we...🙄.

I think we will really struggle if we get Stockport in the semi's on their tiny pitch but would feel quite comfortable against any of the other sides in the conversation. BUT, if we manage to get to the final I back us. Feeling positive... hopefully Jones rests quite a few saturday to give us the best chance of fielding our strongest team in the play offs.

agree with that, Stockport are the only team I wouldn't particularly fancy in the semi's
