That's it. Stay positive.3 -
I reckon this will be announced tomorow, can’t imagine we do it today.

I’m certain I heard pre play offs (from within the club) we have 4 decent signings lined up for whatever league we are in , so maybe July 1st they’ll all come flying in the door10
-
does the July 1stdate impact on how mu h you can spend. is that the year change point0
-
It’s the fact that he’s rapid that suits me for what we are missing. Without Small we are currently a very slow team, especially at Championship level. He really feels like he’ll fit into Jones’s style of play very well.13

Nearly all club's financial years start. on 1 July and most player contracts expire at the end of June.superclive said:does the July 1stdate impact on how mu h you can spend. is that the year change point3 -
Rich has clarified a couple of things regarding the sell on, which at the moment Millwall are due to receive 45%. They’ll also receive 40% of any profit if he is sold again, if of course, Stockport put a % sell on in the deal. I can’t see them doing that personally but in Rich’s piece it read as though we’d need to give them 40% but that’s not the case. Good signing if it happens and the only player I watched last year that made Ramsay look average at best. Exciting player to watch.5

Have to trust Jones but from what little I know about Olaofe he doesn’t look to me as if his game is ever going to make him a 1 in 3 striker particularly now he’s moved up a division. That’s not a criticism of him because it’s obvious that his strengths are not all about being the player getting on the end of things. I see him as a bigger, stronger TC. Of course the more goals the merrier but I’m thinking 10 goals would be a good return. I’ve always thought that every team needs a 20 goals season striker and imho I don’t think we have one. Godden will sniff out goals but he’s now back amongst better defenders and he’s not getting any younger. Regardless I think it’s a decent signing because his attributes certainly fit in with what NJ wants.6

A very good signing if true. We don't have physicality up front and when Chuks was brought on we held the ball up front, it will make a difference to the whole side not just the forward line. Hopefully a rumour that will bear fruit.8

Could he be the back up for TC though or even play in the Small role?ShootersHillGuru said:Have to trust Jones but from what little I know about Olaofe he doesn’t look to me as if his game is ever going to make him a 1 in 3 striker particularly now he’s moved up a division. To be fair, there wasn't a single 20 (league) goal a season striker in the Championship last season, and only 19 players in total scored over 10 goals. With the way we play I think it will be all about the system, keeping it tight and getting a goal through whatever means necessary. I think set pieces will be huge for us next year and I'd hope it would be something we really work on in pre-season.ShootersHillGuru said:Have to trust Jones but from what little I know about Olaofe he doesn’t look to me as if his game is ever going to make him a 1 in 3 striker particularly now he’s moved up a division. Pompey, Derby and Oxford all stayed up last season. Their top goalscorers scored 10, 11 and 6 goalsBerkshire1970 said:We are going to need a goal scorer to keep us in the division and this guy isn’t. Huge risk especially as we are only bringing in 6/7 players so Godden is going to have a lot of responsibility.38 -

Don’t think his goal scoring record is too bad as apparently played off the left and in the 10 a lot last season according to Stockport fans but they also said his best position is in the 9.

Agree Olaofe looks more like a 10 goal a season striker, but his pace, power and work rate will create space for others, push the opposition back and help us grind out wins. You wouldn’t get that playing Godden alongside another poacher.ShootersHillGuru said:Have to trust Jones but from what little I know about Olaofe he doesn’t look to me as if his game is ever going to make him a 1 in 3 striker particularly now he’s moved up a division. Interestingly there haven’t been many 20 goal Champ strikers in the last couple of years - first one is 24/25, second is 23/24:

I was impressed with him against us at Stockport and in the semi against orient. he works hard, is very strong and will still be able to develop. he fits well with what jomes wants in terms of style and might be a great foil for TC, Godden or Leaburn .4

Think it's going to be about a couple of strikers in double figures as opposed to signing the mythical 20+ man. Don't think Tanto will be the only striker we bring in too27
-
Confused by Rich's posts. Would Millwall still have a sell on clause in place after hes joined us?0
-
I think, if you look at the times Chuks came on and Tyreece was still on the pitch, Tyreece was able to find more space simply because Chuks created havoc to opposing defenders game plan. Naby is right, sometimes it's about the make up of the team, not just an individual, although point taken Berkshire, it would be lovely to get a proven 20 goal a season Championship striker, might have to find a hidden gem, eventually, for that one.NabySarr said:

If we’re spending a reported £1.5 million then he isn’t coming in as back up.Valley11 said:

Darren Witcoop reporting it now too.

Whenever I see or hear about that Norwich striker I sing #if you’ve got your tax return#, and every time one of the Danny Roses are mentioned I have to say ‘Broadway’.0
-
I don’t believe we need him to get 20 goals. 20 goal strikers are like rocking horse shit, plus they usually belong to a top 6 side. I think we need him, like others have said, to play a role well and give us something different.8
-
I liked the look of him in the few games I saw of him last season and looks like a Nathan Jones player, strong, quick, used to pressing from the front. I think he could be a very good option both off the bench bullying tired defenders, and starting alongside Godden.

He is more of a wide player, he does everything TC doesn’t, takes on and beats defenders, gets to the line and gets a cross inDanny Addick said:I don’t believe we need him to get 20 goals. 20 goal strikers are like rocking horse shit, plus they usually belong to a top 6 side.
