Not aimed at anyone in particular, but some of our fans talk like we are still a League 1 club.

Barely any of the youth are even good enough to make the bench on a matchday, and to be a stable championship side, you need options everywhere. Genuinely don't understand the comments about halting the progress of an individual player or being concerned about the squad being large. We are one injury away in every position from looking very light.

If a player comes in, and he dislodges someone in our starting XI, so be it, the primary aim is survival and to stabilise, not to make sure x player gets x amount of game time guaranteed.
FINALLY, can we please stop overestimating the youth all the time, it’s not fair on them. Not everyone is going to be a Gomez or a Doughty

You need to say that to Nathan.
It sounded like NJ was being a super* salesman when saying Tyreece Campbell was as good as the premiership players he worked with at his short time at Southampton. Maybe just a coincidence that TC had a dip after those 3 excellent games last season when he scored two goals.
Say it to TC in private as it only put too much pressure on the quiet lad.

I see a player that has progressed in the last 12 months but I also saw him in the pocket of a league 1 full back who is still playing in that Division this season in Jack Grimmer in the 2 legs of the  semi final.

    * Super: the new prefix buzz word in sport.

Burkes a weird one because from the outside it doesn’t look like a ‘bargain bin’ signing. The knowledge that he had severe injury record was there. The whole thing is so od
    So is your spelling.

Actually nothing odd about it. Just another member of the Nathan Jones mutual support group for Luton rejects.

Nathan Jones took such a pasting as manager at Stoke and Southampton that he has developed a siege mentality, stubborn and closed to advice from outsiders. "My way or the highway". He wants to surround himself with yes-men and is more comfortable with those who remind him of his glory years at Luton. This is such a common pattern with public figures, politicians, entertainers and military leaders it is easily recognizable.

Sometimes it works. Stalin got the job done. Hitler didn't. It has worked for Nathan Jones so far. Much as I would like to see us at least try to play football, I realize it could be very dangerous to change strategy now. I think we are stuck with it, at least until the end of the season. I do not think we will get relegated, and we do have a very remote chance of making top 6. Keep your fingers crossed!
Winner of the wiedest post I have ever seen, how did Hitler and Stalin get in a discussion about football, is beyond me

Nathan did set a table tennis table ablaze allegedly but I have never thought of him in a triumvirate with Hitler, Stalin and Jones 😱
    Three at the back?

I had Caesar, Cassius and Pompey as my back 3 but what have the Romans ever done for us ?

I just can't see Adolf, Joseph and Nathan working as a 3 as they will all go charging forward.

I’d rather sign Fukuda on a permanent than sign Rak-Sakyi on loan. Would imagine that is the clubs view too
Considering none of us are experts in the J League, I do wonder what’s got so much excitement going outside of some YouTube videos.

Im certainly curious to see him but its impossible to rank him alongside a player that we do all know so much about

I think it’s partly just that, the mystery and intrigue. It’s mad really that we’re in a position to be looking at these players for the first time in ages.

I also think that if he’s looking to move so he can push for the WC squad there must be some quality there, it suggests he’s been told there’s a chance he makes it

Thinking about it, that makes little sense either.

He's playing for the team currently leading the J League, so why would moving to a lower Championship team improve his WC chances anyway? Surely their domestic league isn't that bad?

Because their domestic league finishes in December

I hadn't realised that the dates for their league are changing next year, as currently they run Feb-Dec, and will shift to an August start.

But that means that ALL domestic players will have no football for 8 months, which is a strange situation.

It also seems that defenders who play abroad are much more rated.

I have no idea about the depth of RB/RWB’s Japan have but there are also lots of Japanese players playing in Europe so he will probably have competition there too. I see why it makes sense for him

No way Fukuda will leave at the moment, given Sanga's unprecedented league position.

(At the Sanga game tonight btw)

It's pretty bad. Think Scottish premier without the big2.

The impact Saito had for them vs our subs highlights the need for someone with a bit of old fashioned flair. When plan A of our work and out fight them isn’t happening we don’t have much to unlock a team with.

My concern is we’re 4 games in, and we’re still relying (very heavily) on players who I don’t think are good enough
