The two results today could not have gone better for us. We can now jump Wycombe, whilst Burton can secure their League 1 position with a win at home to Cambridge this afternoon, given that their goal difference is vastly superior to that of Bristol Rovers. Burton also have their game in hand at home to Wigan on Saturday, so hopefully they’ll be home and hosed when they come to The Valley.
Wycombe’s defeat will fire up Wrexham and their supporters but the longer the game goes with the teams level, in the back of their minds will be the knowledge that a draw would leave them only needing a point at Lincoln to go up. They’ll certainly go after us early on but nerves will kick in later and Parky is a fairly conservative manager.
Let’s just hope that the massively reassuring figure of Lloyd Jones is fit to start, together with Luke Berry. Lloyd’s stature and influence reminds me of Peter Shirtliff who, after a few months out, returned to the side in the cauldron of Elland Road for the second leg of the 1987 Play-Off Final and was magnificent.
I’m expecting a tight and nervy encounter but the greater pressure rests squarely on Wrexham.
Be honest think that's given Wrexham a massive boost and they will be really up for it... more concerned that Reading look fav for 6th place want to avoid them at all costs in play offs
Isn’t it just brilliant to be in this position at all at this point of the season. When we think back to a year ago and what a crap season that was, the team really has hauled its backside out of the pit of despair. If we don’t get the result we want today then so be it but we will still be in the chance for promotion and we should have no one to fear. The pressure will be on Wrexham and we’ll give them the game of their season today. COYR!!!
sky already wanking themselves off over Wrexham being able to win promotion tonight. Sam Parkin was saying that we’re probably the last team they want to play given our latest form and the reporter just said that you can feel that with the music blaring, the 2 Disney characters in town it’s Wrexham’s day of destiny. Please win tonight Charlton.
