I would agree with you if all S/T holders had the time to try all day Sunday to buy their S/T seat, which should have taken a matter of minutes.

I couldn't buy my S/T seat at 11.30 on Sunday, so bought the other non S/T seats that I was entitled to, paid and logged off, even though I was somewhat panicked.

The reason I was somewhat panicked was that there was zero communication from the club re the near complete break down of the ticketing system and no effective way of contacting them to get a speedy response.

Then thanks to CL and not the club, someone worked out that safari was working but possibly none/little of the many other browsers were working.

I know 8 intelligent, computer experienced S/T holders and none of them were able to purchase due to the failed ticketing system, which a few unbelievably say was not an issue.

I logged back in on safari and got my S/T seats, so now paying 2 sets of booking fees.

Later I had to log in again for mates on their ID to get theirs for them as they were unable to sit all day attempting to navigate a broken ticketing system.

To effectively "victim blame" is not a sensible conclusion.

And it'll continue like this for the next day or so - before probably 1,000 (just my guess) come online on Friday.

As one of our 2024/25 or 2025/26 season ticket holders, you have until 10.59am tomorrow (Wednesday, May 7th) to purchase your season ticket seat for our huge play-off semi-final against Wycombe Wanderers on Thursday, May 15th (KO 8pm)!

Unfortunately as I am now informed by the CAFC Ticket office ST 2025/26 were nor being held.

This type of contradiction is unhelpful and seriously incompetent.

Although they have back tracked on the deadline some peoples ST seats have become unavailable like mine so there is still an anomaly in getting a ticket at the moment.
Yes. It was apparent to me that they had not reserved the seats of new 25/26 season ticket holders, probably  because they don’t have the ability to overlay them on the 24/25 stadium map. Therefore 24/25 season-ticket holders were able to buy them, and did, making nonsense of the offer to 25/26 purchasers.

This is straightforward management error rather than a software issue. At best the comms message was seriously misleading.

Staff are clearly paying a hefty price in terms of correcting the inadequate messaging about how to buy your 24/25 season ticket too, creating unnecessary workload. I only worked it out myself when I switched to a laptop. The apparent scale of the problem makes it a serious error.
Airman, I purchased my 25/26 season ticket a few weeks back same stand/block/seat as 24/25 and could not get option to purchase my seat till this morning, I think there were more problems than just this one.
I can’t speak to your experience as my own was limited to being unable to access the link to buy my existing (and 25/26) seat. Once I could do that I was able to buy it. I use Safari on both devices - the one in which I didn’t find the link and the one on which I did.

I suspect some people had problems because they have multiple accounts and buy match tickets with a different ID to their season ticket.

Obviously I don’t know why your seat was not available to you. In most cases it appears that this was because people could not access the link as it was poorly presented and messaged. So they could only see the map of seats excluding 24/25 season tickets and other seats sold.

My first point above is about new 25/26 ST holders, whose seats were not reserved at all.

Exactly my experience, I wasn't buying block tickets, just one for little old me. I have to say that if you think season tickets holders panicked from Sunday onwards, just think how far the panic would have spread if it would have been Wednesday 11.00 shut off with hundreds of season ticket holders not able to get their tickets. Also remember a lot of people have season tickets for partners and their children, bloody nightmare compared to my issues.

I would e mail them again and cc the highest available at CAFC and say that as it was their error I would expect them to reserve you a seat as close as possible to your S/T seat and request a response today.

Help please? I have received tickets via an email so I can print them off.

My tickets are showing when I log in and when I click I can see tabs above with various options including distribute and forward turned black. Thought I would send my sons' tickets to them using this in case something goes wrong meeting up on the day.

When I click the black tab they all come up but it won't let me tick the box against each seat ticket in order to either distribute or forward.

Is this because I have already had the tickets emailed to me or am I doing something wrong?

I thought it would be a good idea to get ready for this.

I was logged in on Opera on my desktop. I figured I should log into Safari on my laptop to, just in case. But apparently my email address is incorrect. I checked on my desktop and email/ password were both correct. But I can't log in on any other browser or device.

So I thought, okay, I will stay by this desktop all morning and try through this. But now I have been force logged out of Opera on desktop, and cannot log in on any browser at all.
Wondering if you've  managed to buy the ticket/s you need ?

Why don't you just forward him the email and tell him what number ticket to print?

Was this supposed to be for season ticket holders only this period?  I'm a bit concerned now that I don't have an ST and might get the ticket taken away again .....  :s

What they should've done imo is this.
Monday & Tuesday. Allow season ticket holders to buy thier seats and their seats only. No extras.
Wednesday. Allow season ticket holders and VG to buy the equivalent of their ST ticket plus 2 extras anywhere they want in the ground including those not taken up on Monday and Tuesday.
Thursday put the rest on General sale.
What they should do now is honour their original statement & put all the ST seats on sale  TODAY.

All those who panicked bought should accept it. You have a ticket for the match. Accept that you panicked & now have a seat in the West or Block B of the AC stand instead of your usual in North Upper.

I've waited patiently to buy mine. Was originally going to be Tuesday.... then Wednesday. Now its Friday.

All because you couldn't wait an hour or two on Sunday.

    Pah  !!

And thanks @clive. I stand by what I said. Everyone who wants a ticket will probably get one......if everyone followed the procedures from Sunday onwards.
As others have said if you periodically log on today some tickets are appearing which you can try and secure.

Hadn’t received my email/tickets, after buying our three season tickets on Sunday morning.  As of last night the fee was also still pending on my credit card, but I did have a transaction number from the App.  Dropped an email to the ticket office this morning and they have sent them through for us.

Hope everyone gets sorted soon if they’re still waiting 🤞🏻
Very interesting as I am still in the same boat as you were-I got my ticket on Sunday-in that my was payment taken, got an order number and then nothing-no confirmation email or tickets. I contacted the office and they said on Monday to wait until Tuesday. I contacted them Tuesday and they told me to wait until Friday. Now I am being told to wait until next Monday (presumbly they are expecting loads of people to tell them on Friday they still haven't had their emails). Surely even our creaky software system has the ability to send the email with tickets within a relatively short period of time? In speaking to the ticket office they said that emails were slightly delayed but surely a week suggests a more major failing than that. I had thought just booking the ticket would be the harder part of the job rather than sending an email. Like you I have asked the ticket office if they could resend the email but sadly I have been told to wait until Monday. I am hoping on Monday it is not a case of "give it a few more days"!

Seats not belonging to season ticket holders have been on general sale all week and this process has not ended... it's just that the supply of them is now dependent on someone cancelling/replacing such tickets and dropping them back into the general pool.

Season ticket holders' seats can also be purchased now, but only by the holders. Until Friday 11am that is - when any unsold will be added to the general sale.

The wording from the club suggests no tickets are on general sale at present but this isn't the case.

Surely to  God purchasing sports event tickets online isn't a new science. Why does this have to be so bloody painful?

Must be the same management team who organise the beer and refreshment sales at half time. An old adage about 'piss up' and 'brewery' comes so mind.

And where the hell is that red-trousered oleaginous creep when we need a suitable scapegoat?

For those worrying about a 'pending payment' on their card, it can be for up to 3 days, card transaction take that long to complete, so are treated as pending, but the money would have been authorised to go, so nothing to worry about

I've not read the entirety of this thread given the size of it, so apologies if already discussed. BUT, it begs the question why ST & VG got +4 surely for a game like this when +1 is sufficient. I have my ticket but fear some fans may miss out when others who aren't necessarily Charlton, get a ticket. I also understand the club wanting to max out the ground but surely not at the expense of regular fans who may not be ST / VG.

Should we get to the final, then this methodology needs to be thought through.

    Adios

I would assume that by allowing a S/T/VG to buy 5?
Rather than allowing 2, surely means there would be far fewer transactions and in theory would make the system more able to cope.

You're fine as long as you park after 4.30pm as you are allowed 2 hours in restricted bays before 6.30pm. Restrictions don't apply after 6.30pm

Yes, assuming you are in a 2 hour maximum bay with restrictions ending at 6.30pm.
