guinnessaddick said:What was stopping the club putting the home leg tickets for home fans a week or two back? With an opposition team TBA & KO time TBA. Many fans would attend regardless of the unknowns and it would have reduced the pressure on the club’s infrastructure once known.
Some people also on here thought it could not be done as dates and opponents were not known, which as we know is a load of nonsense.5 -
I get the logic and in hindsight this does sound a good idea. However, you have also got to factor the attendance was nearly 21k on Sat which suggests they were dealing with ticket sales higher than any game bar Disney in the run up week to the game.If they started this earlier and hit the same IT problems etc it would have been a nightmare in the run up to a match5

Whats done is done now and hopefully the club learn from the mess they created (that was not the fault of fans who had spent hours trying to get tickets and just got exasperated with the process, despite what @golfaddick would have you believe)3 -

And it was not hindsight when I posted about it after the Wrexham game!4 -

With all these supporters advisory groups and fans forums we have, you would have thought stuff like this would be totally nailed down by now, instead we just go from fiasco to fiasco and they only things that change are the SMT in charge and the actual reasons for the failures.7 -

My son had his own Fan ID and was able to log in himself, but (like so many others) he wasn’t able to buy his own seat so he bought another seat in the next block.
After several attempts, and 15 minutes on hold, I spoke to someone in the ticket office today and she was able to sort it all out for us and the three of us will now be together for the game.
I am conscious of criticism levelled by some at ST holders for doing what we did, but I reckon there must be several hundred of us who are neither selfish nor stupid for doing what we did. The ticketing system simply did not offer a way for my son to get his usual seat, as others will attest.
It has now all been sorted to our satisfaction and the “other” seat has already been snapped up.
But can you, or any other ST holder on here explain the mentality of your decision last Sunday to buy a ticket in another part of the ground when the IT system wasn't letting you buy your own seat. I'm just curious as to the thought process & panic mode you were in to think that on day 1 of 12 you had to buy a ticket, any ticket, that day even though there are less than 8000 ST holders in a ground that holds 24k home supporters. Did you really think that if you didn't buy one right now that they would sell out before the end of the day ?
Is it a fear of missing out (FOMO) or some sort of siege mentality. Are you one of those who panic bought all the toilet rolls in the early days of the pandemic in fear of going without even though there had been no mention of short supplies ? I'm interested because I don't recall this happening before on here & wondered if anyone would agree that if they had been more measured then by Tuesday everything would have been back to normal, the IT system problems would have (and did) get sorted out and you now wouldn't have to be ringing the ticket office trying to exchange tickets for your "held" season ticket seat.
Just wondered if it's me (probably is)
I can not purchase ANY tickets until tomorrow at 11am. Only current Season Ticket holders can purchase before then.
Do you honestly believe I'd be sitting here talking about thus issue if I could simply log on a purchase a ticket.
And again, without wanting to sound pedantic or annoyed......its because of all those Season Ticket holders who panicked, bought tickets elsewhere and are now wanting to change seats (back to their 24/25 ST seats) that is causing all this mess and subsequent delay.
Just own it. You panicked, bought elsewhere and now everything has calmed down & the IT system has been sorted out you all want your own seats back.

Whaaaa......👶Tickets for the Addicks’ play-off semi-final second leg against Wycombe Wanderers at The Valley on Thursday, May 15th will now go on back on general sale at the later date of Friday, May 9th at 11am.
Season-ticket holders can still purchase their season ticket seat for the game until 10.59am on Friday, May 9th.

Also are Valley Gold members getting access to buy non season ticket seats at present?
I'm asking for information purposes & not my benefit as i already have a ticket.

With all these supporters advisory groups and fans forums we have, you would have thought stuff like this would be totally nailed down by now, instead we just go from fiasco to fiasco and they only things that change are the SMT in charge and the actual reasons for the failures. With respect to members of advisory groups, fan liaison officers and shadow boards, you need people who understand the minutiae of the ticketing system to advise on these issues. The club isn’t recruiting such people for these roles because it thinks they are about representation not expertise. I understand why but they are different things. The issue about disabled helpers is a prime example of something that should be covered in a user guide. Is it?7 -

Season ticket holders' seats can also be purchased now, but only by the holders. Until Friday 11am that is - when any unsold will be added to the general sale.
The wording from the club suggests no tickets are on general sale at present but this isn't the case.

I suggest we park the Golfie show now as well just keep going round in circles. There’s enough to discuss and I’d hate all the help and advice etc to get swallowed up6

As I said......its probably me.
And PS. I am thankful for the offers of tickets that people on here have generously said that they will purchase for me. Perhaps part of me doesn't want to be sitting next to someone who them knows who I am. Not really wanting to be "outed" iyswim....😄.0 -
And PPS.
My gripe isnt really about not being able to buy a ticket......iI'm pretty certain I'lm be able to get one tomorrow. Its more about all the fuss that has been made by ST holders buying tickets in other areas & then wanting to change them for their own seats once all the panic died down and therefore delaying all the non ST holders from buying theirs.
I am part of the silent majority......just don't like being silent !10 -

I’ve logged on a couple of times this week just to look and once a ticket did pop up and I put it in my basket for @golfie but when I went to check out it said ‘seat unavailable’. It’s very much hit and miss and you could log on a number of times and not get lucky. Personally I think less than 500 will be released at 11am tomorrow as most season ticket holders who bought elsewhere have now got there own seat sorted and as the released one has become available it’s been snapped up.0

I note the club haven’t said how many sold all week for some reason.0
