If Ramsey is getting closed down, he decides to turn around and play it safe to Mannion.
I'll cover my eyes
One of the coolest defenders i have seen playing for us. In fact the only defensive risk i think we have (and it's not a big one imo) is when our keeper comes out and mis-positions himself for a back pass. My worry is more about getting outplayed in midfield, or going into our shells for the big occasion.
Yeh he's great from what I've seen of him.
Not in direct reference to him as a player at all, just that he's on the back line.
The Dillon Phillips and (forgotton his name) og at wembley 6 years ago was possibly one of the most shocking Charlton moments to witness.
The rest of the match at least made it more forgettable, but still.
How dare you!
Naby BeckenSarr was the unfortunate (and blameless) defender in question.
According to quick search, it looks like the Wembley pitch is 3 metres longer and 2 metres wider than the Valley. Although the results show that Brisbane road is the same in length and also 5 metres wider than Wembley. Probably as accurate as predicted transfer fees then.

I'm surprised how quite so many "Pundits" are saying we're a boring team who will do anything to suck all quality out of the game and nick a 1-0. As if we're prime Wycombe under Gareth Ainsworth.

And I couldn’t care less if we are. We’re not the prettiest team to watch but I’ll take promotion from this crap level of football in any way possible.
They all seem to have watched the semi against Wycombe and decided that’s how we play, there was a glimmer of hope when the bloke on the end protested about them all predicting a boring game pointing out the we have great strikers, but he soon lost his nerve and towed the line 😴

I thought the view of NTT20 was completely clouded by our semi-final which was a unique tie given we'd beaten them so comprehensively just a few weeks earlier.
I suppose we're very good defensively which doesn't lend itself to exciting games but it's odd how no one is really seeing that as a positive.
To be fair we are a pretty tough watch generally speaking. The two games against Wycombe were proof of that.
I see your play-off semi-final matches against Wycombe and raise you Huddersfield at home (the 4-0 Wycombe away wasn't too shabby either). That was a good game to watch and shows what we can do when we're on fire.

They are probably better off looking at footage of how they defend set pieces.

TBF if it’s correct that either Jones or Gillespie are 25-1 for the 1st goal that’s very decent considering their set piece record

All guesswork. It would be impossible for them to watch every minute of every league game, and then throw out as much content as they do.
They're mainly using stats and highlights of games like many do on here, including myself.
They know how good Charlton are as well as I know how good Pelé was.
We know how good we are, and we know how beatable Leyton Orient are, so will the lads. That's all that matters 👍🏻
I keep flitting between thinking we will win and fearing we will lose on penalties. What I know is that the team has a great collective work ethic, a never say die attitude and we have sniffer dog!
What concerns me is that in some of the big games this season some of our players seem to be affected by the occasion - passes go astray and we lack composure in the final third. I also fear they will target Gillespie's lack of pace on the larger Wembley pitch.
It will be interesting what Nathan does if Berry can't start. Gilbert is the more attacking option or will he start with Anderson - I hope it's Gilbert with Anderson coming on to provide the energy at the end. The scene is set for Chuks to come on and score the winner but if it goes to extra time I'm not sure he'll last the 30 mins!
In a parallel Charlton universe we put in the same performance as we did in the league at Wycombe and we don't face another nerve wracking Wembley play off final.
COYR!
Was interesting that curbs and minto had a video earlier in the week where they were at Wembley which I assume was recorded recently (not 2019) so suggests something is planned.
Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere but what do we think about VAR being used in the final ? I’m not a fan personally. Most decisions seem to take an eternity to reach & even then not come to a correct decision. I can see a penalty being given in the game, particularly with all the holding & grappling that goes on at corners. Hopefully that goes our way but this game could turn on a dodgy VAR decision.

@Leuth will be along soon to tell you off ....
This is what happens when you give opinions based on stats and not actually watching any games involving the teams in question.
Who the fuck are these people anyway?
Sorry mate. I'm not very sharp today.
Just already buzzing for the playoff final on bank holiday Monday

That's good to know.
I wonder if they'll all be together at the wembley VIP hospitality seating area for the match
Curbs and Keith peacock will probably sit side by side.
