Anne Payne/Bradshaw RIP

edited January 2012 in General Charlton
We've learned this afternoon that former club secretary Anne Bradshaw (previously Anne Payne) has died after a short illness at the age of 51.

Anne originally worked at The Valley and was one of the small staff team that transferred to Selhurst Park in 1985, later working locally as a secondary school secretary. She was very well known to supporters and her husband Ernie is a longstanding fan.

Very sad news and quite a shock for those of us at the club who remember her.

This is such a shock. I got to know Anne well in her post-Charlton career, and she was easily one of the best colleagues I have ever known. Anne would sometimes regale me with a few stories from her Charlton days, a great storyteller. Anne had such a sense of humour, so happy and generous in everything she did, full of care, wit, advice, a shoulder to cry on, a really really lovely person, and now taken from us all much too soon. I have just rushed home, and will be getting ready for the Bury match this evening, but I can feel the tears even as I write this, such a shame.
    RIP Anne
    xx
