Quite true. That's why Powell has been talking about his rotation policy.
He's planning on playing a rerserve team until February in case any clubs try to buy the 1st team players :-)

i thought weve been doing that due to circumstances most of the season

As long as this injury doesnt effect him too much, Wiggins will be playing top flight football within the next 2-3 years, with a bit of luck its with us.

Bump. Any firm updates on this?

If Ceddy can keep his today's level of performance up, I'd like him to keep the shirt but the competition for the place could perhaps push both players on even further.

When is the next development squad game?
  • I've written it in my diary as Monday 14th January at home to Ipswich, seth.

Plan to make this our first one.

Cheers Fanny...I assume it is in the afternoon which is a shame 'cos I've managed to get a days work on that date!

Irrelevant, you still think Powell doesn't want his first choice left back fit for the most important part of the season just in case someone wants to buy him, and seeing as his last game before he got injured he was turned inside out by Zaha about 4 times, I doubt he's on too many radars right now...

This is true but Zaha turns most Chempionship full backs inside out and will probably do the same in the Prem. No point in rushing the lad back but I have to say the length of this injury is very worrying.

He is doing light training, running etc and should be back playing in about three weeks time

Decent, however Evina has seemed tidy since coming back himself.

More like fantastic news AFKA ! rather than Solly , Kerkar or Seabiscuit playing at left back , we could , could have the left back spot finally sorted this season , although i would say i think Evina has done very very well when he has played in the first team , he's certainly making the most of his chance , love him to bits , has come on leaps and bounds.

Agree with all that MIA, and I think we will see a return to some decent passing football once Rhoys is back. Like Chris Solly I believe Rhoys will be a Prem player, hopefully with us

Just hoping this injury doesn't hamper him too much when he comes back. Though he is seen as a "good, young prospect" by many - he is already 25. If he wants to play in the Premier League for the best part of his career then he needs to get there in the next year or so.

When he is back I can see Evina being moved up to left wing to bring a more defensive edge to midfield.

He was when he signed, Prague.

It's just that he's had a couple of birthdays since then.

    ;o)

Bloody ell, that's posh having a birthday each year! ;o)
  • The problem was both Wiggins and Evina being out at the same time. When Evina (belatedly) got his chance he looked good before his injury, and is settling in reasonably now, so there is no need to rush Wiggins back

  • With RW back, perhaps Evina could be an option at LM.

What game is he talking about? Presumably behind closed doors?

I'm not on twitter. Does the WSS post above mean that Rhoys has a game tomorrow? If so, is it at Sparrows Lane?

That's from instagram danny, I assume there's a practice game tomorrow.

It will take Rhoys a good while to get match fit for the Championship after such a long lay off I reckon.

That's assuming no setbacks to his foot from tackling and kicking the ball!

(Maybe the gout in my foot at the moment is making me unduly pessimistic as i could neither tackle someone nor kick a ball at present!)

Good news, although it may take a few weeks for him to get fully match fit.

I agree that Evina and Wiggins on the left could be very potent. Both have pace and both can defend. With Solly and Wilson on the right that could give us some real balance.

If not, at least we have cover. Can Rhoys play centre half? or centre mid? : - )
