Interesting to see that so many are suggesting he has only retired because of the aging squad, players wanting out etc etc.

Or maybe, JUST MAYBE, its because he is 71 years of age.

I don't doubt he's left them mainly because of his health. Due to have a hip replacement this summer which would've meant he couldn't have gone on their pre season tour. My point is that i don't think he's left them in as strong a position as some think. Ok they're champions but if you look further into it, their squad isn't as strong as City/Chelsea and their best players are knocking on.

I think you have to look at more than just the first team. They have a brilliant academy and can attract players from all over the world. If he had a load of young kids in the side then they probably wouldn't be Premiership champions. There's got to be a bit of balance.

From the time he started to the time he left he has made them the biggest club and arguably the most prestigious club in the world to play for.

You can argue that their squad isn't as strong as City/Chelsea, but those clubs will NEVER be at the height of Manchester United regardless of whether they win the title next year or even the year after.

I would put my money on them dropping out of the top four rather than put it on them winning the league.

Depends a great deal on how much of a roll AF will continue to have. If he hangs around ala Matt Busby castings shadow onto Moyes I can see things ending in disaster. Moyes I think is his own man and needs to be allowed to be total control. I hope Alex can see it too.

Well I dont know about dropping out of the top 4 completely but I can only see Chelsea and Man City dominating the top 2 places between them now, especially if Mourinho does go back to Chelsea.

It was à " i would rather put my money" comment. I agree top 4 is the expectation from me.

A tribute from the one and only Not Big Sam:
    http://blog.paddypower.com/2013/05/11/sir-alex-hes-got-a-heart-bigger-than-katy-perrys-forehead-and-saved-my-life/

It came amidst a difficult time for Big Sam; while Sir Alex was still basking in the glory of winning his 12th Premier League title, I was unemployed, miserable, and spent my days watching ‘Baise-moi’ on repeat, eating Findus Crispy Pancakes by the dozen and calling in bomb-threats to a wide range of national retail outlets.

Looks like a fairly easy task ahead for Moyes to win his first trophy. Community shield at Wembley against a Wigan side likely to be in the championship without Martinez, Maloney and perhaps after today McManaman too.

To add to the list of Ms I'd imagine McArthy and maybe even McArthur would get Prem transfers

SAF confirms Rooney handed in request: "I don't think Wayne was keen to play simply because he's asked for a transfer,But we won't sell him"

'Rooney transfer request was turned down. He was not happy at being subbed a few times. Rooney playing well wouldn't be subbed'.

So he sulks because he's been subbed when Van Persie and others have been outplaying him every week. I'd get well rid if I was Moyes.

I think Old Trafford has slightly changed. You can look how it looks today and think; The house that Fergie built!
  • Interesting to see that their is no mention of trouble at West Brom Sunday.
Lets not damage Fergies final send off, or the product

Just from watching MOTD there was a flare thrown on the pitch and what looked like it could have been a scuffle between some Man Utd fans.
