    "Newcastle United have appointed Joe Kinnear as the Club's new Director of Football on a three-year deal. Joe will report directly to the club's Board as the senior executive in charge of all football-related matters. Chief scout Graham Carr and manager Alan Pardew will report into Joe.

    I 'ran into' Kinnear once @ Euston station where he was having a few beers/whiskeys in one of the bars. It was a while ago. He struck me as being a senile old bugger then , I doubt if his mental faculties have improved all that much in the meantime.

    I had a great night at the stow with him and vinnie jones and a few pals whom i know and he was a top top bloke that night you can only take as you find and i liked him

    Kinnear is a dinosaur and so out of touch with the modern game it's untrue. If there is a more ludicrous appointment this season I'd be surprised.
    He epitomises everything that is wrong with the old style English football manager.

    Next season the PL is going to be brilliant viewing, maybe not from a football point of view though.

    I simply cannot believe this appointment - it looks like a prima facie case for Pardew to claim constructive dismissal, no doubt enriching the useless narcissistic oxygen thief further with another pay off. Ashley's motives are utterly transparent, and this is his payback for public criticism.

    As for Kinnear - the bloke has all the brains of an opal fruit (half eaten), as you can see from his Talksport interview. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

    And then there's his compulsive bullshitting - once again, it just makes him look even more of a tool and even more of an embarrassment to football.

    I feel sorry for the barcodes....I can't imagine how the poor buggers feel about all this....God help them!

    Having "run" into Mike Ashley and a threatened court case, which he had no chance of winning IMHO, he doesn't care if he goes to court. He'll make it as painful for Super Alan Pardew for as long as possible.

    One view is that JK got short term contract make super al untenable. Pardew criticized ashley at a press conference last season and that is getting brought up now in the press

    Fair play to kinnear he says what he likes and they print it. But you can't judge a man in the press
