  • Sorry, Danny Green not good enough at this level. Shone on Tuesday against Oxford but against Boro today he once again showed he's lacking. CP has given him enough chances but that's got to be it now.

    Why was waggy let go?

Green is a clown who is just not funny.

Wagstaff's contract expired that's why he left, Green has one year left. It's a shame we couldn't have kept Waggy at the expense of Green - I think over the course of 46 games Wagstaff would contribute more than Green whilst complimenting the rest of the team - particularly Solly.

Agree. More versatile and harder working.

No.. Wagstaff was let go because he was barely good enough for league 1 let alone the Championship

Can some people take their Charlton Youth Academy blinkers off

I'm not saying Wagstaff's a world beater, but in my opinion he's a better option - for the reasons above - than Green.

If the contracts situation were reversed I'm also certain Scott would still be with us

Pleaseeeeeee! Green was bad but come on he did have our only two shots on target, if they had gone in we would all singing his praises. The whole team were bad, Kermorgant looked liked he played in a pub league.

Just about the only positive, for me at least, of Waggy leaving was that it would mean the end of the Waggy v Green debate.

    Seems I was mistaken.

And Danny Green is a Charlton academy product too.

My city mate loves Waggy, says all you could want and thinks might become a crowd fav. Green sadly has the heart of sam

No doubt he will be dropped for the next 10 games. Then he will come in for 1 then get dropped again. He isn't allowed a run in the team like others.

Sad but Danny is playing above his level. Hasn't got the time or first touch afforded in league one to look anything other than out of his depth. No disgrace in that but he needs to be moved on and I wish him well.

    Disagree with this
  • Anyone seen his brothers tweets? So embarrassing

Judge the guy when he's played five or more games in a row.

What's he ever done to suggest he's a Championship player? Can we risk giving him a run of games?

If he's in the team we need plenty of energy and pace in central midfield. Where's that going to come from?
  • To be able to play that many in a row he has to show why he deserves it. Didn't do that at all last season.

I feel that wilson is a bit unspectacular but has a decent enough partnership with Solly. Solly isn't going to run forward and attack when Green cannot be trusted to cover. George Friend tore Green to shreds yesterday.

So Start Wilson and if we need a spark then bring Green on as a sub.

another thing... I do like it when Green sends in crosses early but more often than not they're crap balls.

If Gower has managed to play quite a few games and get a contract then surely Green deserves a run of games

Correct. Not good enough for Champ, and never will be. Nice lad, met him a few times, wish him well, I really do. But he offered nothing. When did he ever beat his man?

I'll never deny he was a great finisher, but in the course of the season he doesn't contribute enough. And no, I'm certainly not saying Green does either.

Pritchard all day for me, don't see there's any other choice. And not Wilson. Would love to know his goals/assists stats from last year.

In the words of member of the Charlton first 11 - he's one of a few lads at Charlton nicking a living. Nice lad, appaling footballer - couldn't have said it better myself league one/two level at best.

I think he has surely had his last chance. I am very supportive of all players but he offers very little and don't feel he can keep being given chances. Lets offload him

But he's had quite a few games though, I don't think the majority of these comments are based just on yesterday's woefull performance but in general he has never appeared good enough for this level.

I have to admit that I did not know that Pritch was our top assister last season.

He was one of the top assisters in the league

Green's supporters always quote his good assist record. But it's a flawed way to view things: if I took the majority of free kicks and corners I'd have good assist figures too! Unfortunately I would bring absolutely nothing else whatsoever to the team. No tackling, no passes, no tactical awareness, in fact no anything. Green, it seems, is in exactly that category too. Sadly the rest of the team appear to be sinking to his level.
