Alan Knight, Daniels, McLaughlin, Symons, Chamberlain, Agnew, Neil, Paul Walsh, Guy Whittingham, and somebody. " And it becomes the perfect start..." in the seventh minute.
And Stepney, Nichol, Albiston, Greenhoff B, Greenhoff J, McQueen, Macari, McIllroy, Pearson, Coppell, Hill, which was very popular at Eglinton Junior and was, shamefully, my favourite team when I was 10.0

My dad is man utd fan so supported them as kid. Would have Buchan for B Greenhoff and Joe Jordan maybe for Hill. Maybe even Garry Bailey in goal.0

Duff , Sewell, Townsend, Kiernan, Jago, Ufton, Lawrie, Lucas, Leary, White, Summers. I think this would have been my first or so line up in 1959.0

That's also what I'd have gone for, I started going at the age of 4. I didn't think we had Pardew at Upton Park, though.uie2 said:

Here's something to test the memory of you older lifers.
My first ever football match was at the valley and I think it was a schoolboy international played sometime in the late 1950's.
My teacher Mr Rickson at Greenacres school coldharbour was selling tickets for the match. My dad took me and the crowd seemed huge for the game. I was hooked to the Valley and a lifelong Charlton Athletic supporter. I cannot remember any of the team but some of you lifers may have some recollection of the game.0

The FA Cup losers of 1961 contained two future Reds. Leicester had to lose as Spurs were about to win Cup Finals in years that ended in 1. Chalmers broke his leg.
