I'd assume Dervite and Yann will help him settle in.

If he's good enough and better than the other 2 keepers then he'll play. We currently have 3-4 strikers yet if we signed a better one, no one would moan at all. There's nothing wrong with competition for places.

Does anyone on here really give a sh*t if it's pissed off Hamer and Alnwick? It might make them train harder and up their game.

    I agree.

My only concerns are that he is picked on merit not because he has to play and that he has the right attitude and team ethic.

Hughes has already said he had to give Astrid a verbal kick up the arse about how he was training which, to his credit, AA responded positively to.

But it is early days and far too early to judge the new regime either way.

Support the team and keeping asking questions

Richard Cawleys tweet is a game changer though isn't it. Thurams not coming in to replace either of the two Bens at least not initially but to train, have a look, gain experience.

If he likes us and vice versa then perhaps he gets games. In any case I don't see him coming permanently. I would think his ambition is at present out of alignment with us.

May just put things in context?

But he has signed on loan, which Cawley said wasn't th case, so that tweet is now irrelevant.

CP would become a lesser man in my eyes if that wasn't the case

And he has proven it to be the case with Alonso, Clarke and one or two others.

I think people should probably give RD a bit of credit here or at the very least wait until we've heard from Powell about him. RD wants to improve us,

Does he? Do you have proof of this? If he does want to improve us it will only be for short term gain.

No i'm wrong. He doesn't want to improve us at all. He's spent 20m buying us just to watch us slide down the leagues and make his investment absolutely worthless.
There's no need to be sarcastic.

His investment could never be worthless even if we got relegated to The Conference because he's got a nice bit of real estate on the cheap.

I don't think that this is his intention but I don't believe the reality is much better.

You said 'RD wants to improve us' and maybe you're right. It's the reason why that bothers me.

Mate of mine just bumped in Thuram and he said if he's fit he must start each game, it's part of the loan deal.

Gosh, he must have learnt English really really quickly.

"Yohann Thuram-Ulien speaks very little English, but does not see it as a problem: 'Football is universal. Once they understand the football language they'll be fine.'

A wind-up and a potentially damaging one. If we allow ourselves to fall for these sorts of conspiracy theories that the SL loanees will be getting preferential treatment then we will all be sunk.

Did look a poor goalkeeping error on the highlights, I have to admit. And his leg save later was a weird one too.

Lets give him a few games before writing him off. He's not played much and suddenly he's playing in England for a team he probably has heard very little about and a robust style that he's not used to.

I have already asked on the match review to anyone who was there. Is he commanding in the area for crosses etc?

He was constantly yelling to the back four. Whether or not it was in English, I have no idea.

After the goal, and then the save with his feet (which reminds me of a save in a 5 a side match down at Beckenham Goals) I was fearing the worst.

The game grew, and I thought he made a few good saves. Especially the save when it was 3 of them against Thuram and one defender.

He seems very confident. But as his communication and kicking gets better, by each game, I think he will be a good asset.
  • That double save when it was three on one was unreal, no doubt in my mind if it was Hamer in goal then they would have scored.

I have to admit he was at fault for the goal, and the leg save was strange, but as nam has said above, he was very commanding and also looked very assured after that. Caught the ball a lot aswell, when I thought it would be easier to punch

because he played like one or because he looks like one?

First reason ok...second one straight red IMO.

its just an opinion but if that is just because he is black then do ur best to try and ensure it isnt repeated. Ta muchly
