I don't mind being SL little brother club if these talented youngsters come to us first. We need to stay up.

If true, that would pretty much confirm that we are being used as a feeder club for Liege.
  • Unfortunately if he signs for us before heading to Standard Liege then thats part and parcel of what we can expect in the future... At the end of the day I dont mind if that happens if his goals keep us up and also... When he does sign for Liege we'll then hopefully get someone to replace him

so much for Dale wanting to go back up north
  • I tell you what is bonkers, losing proven Championship players like Yann and Dale and bringing in players with no experience of the English game and certainly not versed in the art of relegation scrapping. If this were the start of a new pre-season I would be extremely excited, but at this juncture I just can't see if we will be allowed to time to knit this rag tag team together before it is too late. Any camaraderie built up from before will need to be built up again. I hope Chris' French/Polish/Swedish is up to scratch. Oh hang on he might not need to if he's not being allowed to hang around either.

I wonder if Brighton have any old lumps of shit we have never herd of who can be thrown into the deal ? maybe someone who has played less than 30 pro games or maybe another goal keeper?

Roland quick do your stuff they might slip through your net !!!

This thread is so fast moving that I can't keep up.

Has anyone heard about the Polish striker from Holland who's about to sign a 4 and a half year deal with us?

Let's see what happens here first I can't see it personally signing 4 and half year deal getting fans hopes up. Ill be surprised and angry if this happens.

Piotr Parzyszek is in second place on the topscorer list in the Netherland's Jupiler League with 16 goals

Anyone that watches dutch football will tell you the defending in the top flight is pretty abysmal. God only knows how bad it is in their second tier. That said, he obviously knows where the goal is.

Clearly he's going to be using us as a stepping stone to Liege though.

I'm not sure, but I thought that commend by Cawley was in regards to Cedric Bakambu

I think we'll soon come to realise that it's a 4 and a half year contract with RD, not a contract with Charlton.

    "We've got our Charlton back"

This seems a long time ago now.

Powell was let down by the old owners, and continues to be let down now. The same for us fans.

I can see no positives in the way we are going. The dressing room will be totally gone now. Our best players are being sold (the fault with this lies mostly at the old owners door) and a load of players that the manager has no knowledge of are being shipped in. What chance does Powell have? If he doesn't play these players he'll be shipped out, if he does what will the players he brought in think?

I don't want to see Charlton becoming a standing place for a group of randomly collected players with no affection for the team that ultimately will benefit another club. We are losing our identity. It sounds dramatic but it's the truth. What good can come of this?

What the hell is going on???

At this rate Morrison will be playing Striker and Dervitte in CM.

I would rather keep Stephens than Wiggins.
  • Ffs so what if we start as leige feeder club

If it takes us firstly away from danger and then who knows

If we can take advantage of these players (even as a feeder club for the time being) i am happy for them to be successful with us and then be sold on. At the moment we are in no position to have delusions of grandure. having players come to us, get stronger to be able to play in the Champions League surely is not a bad thing. If we become that successful as a result of these players, are we likely to complain?

You think that this taking us away from danger? Really? It's doing the exact opposite. The mood at the training ground is one of desperation.

I agree with this. A lot of reason Charlton is a good laugh is we have a bunch of lads who band trogether even if they are not that good. I will be keeping my money in my pocket at this rate.
