I am conerned that a lot of comments point to our lack of success as being down to not having a decent striker. From all the match threads and match reports I have followed, I do not hear that we created chance after chance for our strikers to score and they have wasted them. However good a striker we buy or get in on loan he will not score without some kind of half-decent service. We need to work out how we can develop our game from a mean defence into an efficient passing/attacking force which can provide chances for forwards to score. Often Kermogant has to turn himself inside out to construct a shot from the rare crosses that come at him to have any chance of a shot on goal. The tactic of hoofball presents a more than 50/50 chance of a defence regaining immediate possession of the ball. And how many goals, shots or near misses have been created from someone running on to a flick on? Coaching our players on build up play in the final third will hopefully present more chances for our existing forwards to score. A lone, new, super-duper striker will not suddenly start hitting the back of the net by himself.0

Does anyone know how far away Sordell is from a return?
Has not impressed but surely he is more likely to get a goal than Church.0 -
If there are no strikers these days, you have to blame Thatcher.5

We need a striker with pace to trouble the opposition, seen we've been linked with Reza Ghoochannejhad and Mbombo of Liege today. Hope either of these can do a decent job if they come in.0

I see a lot of situations where a striker making the right decisions and anticipating would get more chances, but ours run around like headless chickens.Tunwellsaddick said:I am conerned that a lot of comments point to our lack of success as being down to not having a decent striker. We've already signed two strikers on loan, were not gonna get anyone better.0

How about trying something our opponents tonight have tried and turn a defender in to a striker, Dervite is looking like a goal machine right now when it comes to our season. ;-)0

I know polish Petes gonna be shit but I'm desperate for him to be given a chance. If for no other reason than he can confirm it himself, rather than by the experts on Charlton Life.0
