Let's hope we've got some scouts out there so we can get a signature pronto - couple of these might have some potential.

Miranda at A.Madrid is another one missing out. Would get into most international teams but Brazil seem to be blessed at CB at the minute.

Think Coutinho is the biggest surprise

A few people seem surprised at Robinho, but he aint at the level the others forwards are.

Also noticed a few people surprised at no Kaka or Ronaldinho think both are to old now

It's the least terrifying Brazil squad I can remember with the exception of the heartbeat were truly awful (memory failing me but it might have been 1990). But home advantage will be huge. Now that all their players are household names, the mystique has disappeared a little.

Think the biggest surprise for most English Football fans is Jo...

Someone who seriously struggled whilst at Manchester City and Everton yet has rediscovered his scoring touch since returning to Brazil

Yeah come on Roland, get your cheque book out! No ambition.

Jo has done well since returning to Brazil.

Fred is worth a go on 33/1.

If they win it then it'll be down to that midfield. Just wow.

I'm determined to enjoy this World Cup and forget about England.

Filipe Luis and Miranda probably part of the best defence in Europe at the minute, both very unlucky not to make it.

Lucas Moura was a cert aswell

Coutinho isn't really close to making that side, they have far better attacking midfield options. Filipe Luís and Miranda are the big exclusions, wouldn't have picked Henrique instead of one of those.

That is a very very good team, lets just hope their strike force is off form. Neymar has had a disappointing year but plays far better in the national team with the squad set up around him.

This is the poorest Brazil squad in 20 years - and that squad still won the World Cup!

Defensively all over the shop and Neymar isn't in the same league (albeit he is) as Diego Costa, Ronaldo or Messi.

No Felipe Melo? No Lucas Leiva or Pato either, both went to play in Brazil specifically for the world cup, no Rafael or Fabio who haven't progressed enough, no kaka, no coutinho and no Ronaldinho yet that midfield is still full of creativity, crazy crazy squad

Crazy squad but two huge Questions

    (1) - Can they play as a team on the big stage
    (2) - Can they handle the pressure of Home advantage... As doubt a home nation has ever been expected to win the World Cup like Brazil this year

They will be a big threat and tough to beat on their turf. Neymar probably over-rated but has undoubted talent.

Its not their greatest squad no, but they will be a team that every nation will want to avoid. I can see them growing into the tournament and gaining momentum and being still in contention come the semi finals.

    Bet365 pays top 4.

Just looked and he is now 20/1 since the squad announcement

Edit: Coral offering 33/1 still with 1/4 odds on top 4

This, though they have a tough draw. Spain/Netherlands/Chile in the second round followed by most likely one of England/Uruguay/Italy, whether they finish 1st or 2nd in their group.

Contrast that with Argentina's run and it'll make most Brazilians cry

poor team and an indictment on the state of Brasilian football.
aged players going back to Brasil are stars in their league.
kids aren't developing in Brasil so reliant on the mercenaries.
    sad.
they won't make the semi's. watch them implode.

Can we make this the World Cup 2014 squads thread? Makes things a lot simpler.
